MELBOURNE Victory captain Kevin Muscat could find himself in hot water from Football Federation Australia after brushing away the hand of a match referee.
Muscat angrily confronted the match officials at half-time during Melbourne's 3-1 loss to Perth at Members Equity Stadium on Saturday night.
The 35-year-old was upset a foul wasn't called against Perth's Dino Djulbic after the Glory defender challenged Victory keeper Michael Theoklitos in the air.
After Muscat vented his frustrations, he appeared to fend away the hand of assistant referee Michael Nugus who was trying to guide the Victory hard-nut in the direction of the dressing rooms.
Victory coach Ernie Merrick stepped between the pair to diffuse the situation.
Muscat was not penalised for the incident and refused to elaborate on what happened when questioned about it after the match.

We all know what the penalty for this is (and they can't use the "it was dealt with on the field" shit). The conduct expected of Musc**t should be even higher as the captain, a very senior A-League player and former Socceroo).
I will be f**king spewing it this is not treated in a manner which demonstrates some consistency after the Joel Griffith's farce.

Are you being sarcastic here Chris? (Or being "FFA in disguise"?)
Or was there no contact?
Not having seen it, I'm only reading "appeared to fend away the hand of" after "angrily confronted".
And yes, it's going to make Mariner's fans prickle more than anyone else.

Yes there was contact ... contact by the AR on the shoulder of Musc**t and Musc**t pulled away (perhaps brushing the AR as he did ... but I'll have another look at the TV images later to confirm, or be proved wrong!!
Always dangerous to believe the media spin ...
