ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

RIP Fury?

So, if the FFA was to come out and say that the Fury is gone because the money required from FFA to keep Brisbane afloat leaves no room to save the Fury, would that appease everyone? Would it change the decision? It wont be the last team that folds from the A-League and its not the first.

Might not help Fury fans but may bring the FFA malaise into the open, force a public review, and refocuss of the FFA in regard to the A-League, and perhaps save the Mariners sometime down the track.

The FFA may rue cutting Fury from the competition. The news from Phoenix is not very encouraging and I don't know how long they have left as an entity...Serepisos, who always seems to have trouble paying the bills, is on the verge of being wound up by the tax office in NZ. So, desperate for money he has been over to Spain to find a benefactor with a few million to spare. He found one in a shady company promising hundreds of millions of dollars to his and other Australasian failing businesses, providing they stumped up millions of dollars up front. Can you guess the rest...? If not read the following links. I fear he has run out of time..

From http://www.wikifrauds.net/victimsanddollars.html
18 February 2011
"Claims this morning that Wellington Phoenix football owner Terry Serepisos may have fallen victim to a Nigerian-style finance scam that's cost him more than $750,000.

The National Business Review says it's seen confidential documents relating to a loan that went bad in late 2009, offered by Western Gulf Advisory to an Australian developer.

It's the same deal being offered to Mr Serepisos.

His loan is supposed to be delivered today, but the transfer has been delayed and WGA has threatened the NBR with legal action after it started asking questions.

The NBR says the troubled property developer is being warned that his desperate attempts to secure funds from overseas bear all the hallmarks of a scam that should be reported to the Securities Commission.

The future of Mr Serepisos' property empire and the Phoenix appears to hinge on the loan deal going ahead."

More bad news for that other A-League club from over the water.

"I am still comfortable," he said. "I've done my homework on this gentleman." (NZ Herald, Auckland)

Or so Terry says....This must be the only student in the recent history of homework who has NOT used Wikipedia to complete their research. 'Cos if he had, he would not have thrown good money after bad.

Mr Serepisos was not present at court but Associate Judge David Gendall said the affidavit confirmed a $US 100 million loan agreement had been signed and it was now a question of when the money would be available.
(Dominion Post, Wellington)

If he thinks this money is coming through he's deluding himself. Some good news is that the owner of TradeMe, online auctions, may be interested in buying the club. Let us hope this is true.

Either way hopefully it works out. I'd rather not see more clubs drop off like that! FFA need to get their act together and start sorting this mess out.

Its not gonna happen untill Lowy f**ks off. The Crawford report recommendations need to be implemented ASAP. Not just some of them but all. Lowy has taken a pick and choose approach to run his little dictatorship and it is blowing up in his face. He wanted a world cup and f**ked it. Now he needs to let go of the A-League. Its not like he is funding it or going to bail it out of trouble. So why is he still hanging around?
