Our tactics have been spot on. Our execution has been very very poor. Passing has been really bad. Going down the right in the first half we looked great. We've not gone back there as much second half and we really have nothing on our left side.

Can you tell me what our tactics are because I cannot see any apparent plan?

Our defensive shape is a rabble. It used to be so compact and disciplined under Monty. Players had no clue where to be.

This was also apparent in attack. Way too much reliance on individuality rather than an attacking plan.

Thirdly, our set pieces was just lumping it in the box.

No tactics I can see.

We were beaten by a pub team who were worse than last season.

Well
That was incredibly infuriating. Most of our players need to seriously pull their fingers out. The tactics were fine. They’re not even fully set in yet.

Kuol was absolute dog shit 2 MASSIVE chances he straight up butchered with questionable technique, DWH not a whole lot better but atleast did a couple positive things.
Do we honestly need more proof that Wilson ain’t it?

It’s all Wilson’s fault apparently.

Stu, you are a highly experienced and credentialed coach. What were our tactics today? Am I missing something?
They are keeping our breath fresh.

Oh wait that’s our tic tacs.

I didn’t see a lot of anything today. Even (especially) from the forum faves. Steele, Theo, smith, kuol, tulio , kaltak apart from tapping in from 6 yards.Tapp didn’t do much but hard coming on when chasing the game.

The only plan seemed to be do as many stepovers as possible, pass to them and bomb balls into the box against the two tallest backs in the league.

But let’s blame the young kids who are new.

Maybe I'm being harsh, but it really bothered me when, in about the 74th minute, he had the ball going to the left of goal. Not a great opportunity, but an opportunity nonetheless. Ball was high about almost out, and instead of trying to control the ball with his left foot - or heck, doing a bicycle to keep it in play - he tried doing some kung fu shit with his right foot and kicked it straight out.

Then...he laughed.

I mean, if we're 1-0 down to a team we should be smashing, with 15min to go, and you think blowing a rare chance on goal is funny then you should probably give up your place to somebody who actually takes the game seriously. Taking the absolute piss.

Not to mention....at this level, all players should have some off-foot capability. No excuse for whatever he tried to do to start with.

That's not about singling him out for a poor performance - he's hardly alone in that respect, but attitude speaks volumes.

Done very harshly by the ref, but it's one of those games where I can't even be too frustrated at the penalties we didn't get because we didn't really deserve to win. Although, conceding a goal moments after a big decision goes against you often seems to have a big psychological impact. Though, that's on us to respond. We certainly had the time to. Little bit of a lift when Kaltak scored...

I'm not sure who it's falling to now to find a way to get the team to lift or create a spark when it feels like everything is against us. A little bit of magic might have turned things around and helped everybody put in that extra 10%.. Their second goal just felt like it scored in slow-motion......Kaltak, why are you turning side-on there? Don't want to get hit? I think the ball came in JUST as Danny had taken a step to his left and he just couldn't move, so it seemed.

He should have let it bounce out for a corner. But the way we were using set pieces it was probably better to try the outrageous.

Link play out wide between the full backs overlapping the wingers, link play with Tulio in the 10 with one and sometimes both CM’s pushing forward, he wants aggressive forward passes to feet from our CB’s between the lines for either Tulio or a Nizz pushing forward. Downside of the fullbacks pushing so high leaves us vulnerable. Ie; the first goal on the counter attack. The press was more refined today until we became desperate. A big part of it so far has been trying to stretch the opposition to get Torres and Theo One on one because they’re pretty good beating the first man. If Kuol scores his 2 massive chances would you question the tactics?

It’s player error holding us back in the league these first 2 games. Both goals again today were from errors. And yes actually Wilson was at fault for the second, very weak it the tackle, like laughably weak in the tackle on the edge of the box. Then the quick 2nd phase baccus wasn’t shut down by smith I think it was (player error)

Good enough?

I'd rather he try something basic rather than kung fu.

But I'd also rather he be frustrated at losing a chance at goal. Not chuckling like a school kid who had the ball taken because they were doing fancy stuff and finds the whole thing oh-so-entertaining.

Theo loses the ball a thousand times and just shrugs his shoulders. Thursday night he tripped on th ball doing his circles and it went out for a goal kick - no reaction.

We do that at walking pace most of the time and then give it away.

What’s the next 5 passes? Then the 5 after that?

Tactics is more than a nice triangle in ineffectual areas.

Good enough?
But we don’t play fast aggressive forward passes and we struggle to hit feet.

Good test to see how Jackson lifts this team only two games in certainly wouldn't be worried would be more worried if we have unhappy players with the coach which isn't the case from all suggestions
Chris we have players walking around the field, laughing at missed goals, seemingly non plussed when the opposition is striding with the ball to their final third. “Oh.. ok.. I will trot after him.”
I don’t care how happy they are with the coach. Are we back to being happy living by the sea and the palm trees and who cares about the rest?
Not good enough.

This exactly. There's a lot of selfishness and a lack of effort atm.

That link play pretty much stalled just past half way. Nisbet was too forward and getting in the way of Tulio and Kuol. Macarthur found it too easy pin is wide as a result.
