ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Oh and I'm liking the rotating front four. In lieu of a #10 it's done a decent job of keeping the opposition on their toes in the last two games.

Absolutely love that we are the first team to score more than 1 against them this season.

We look like we aren't sure what to do in the front third, which a controlling #10 would do wonders for. I think that's why Cas failed in that position too, he wasn't creative or demanding. Once we have someone pulling strings we'll be able to use our considerable attacking options more consistently. Frustrating game to lose, but it was a lot of fun to watch when we did it right.

Monty still forced to be our number one battler and our number one creative ball player (which is madness.)

Keep Trent in and push Fab inside for Powell - I'm just not seeing the contribution - and it's while one of our best players is on the bench or benched each week for a converted forward.

More shocking unforced errors than usual but SFC only punished a couple. And we butchered the mistakes they handed to us.

Can we please sort our bloody set pieces out. More madness.

Should have had a point though. Played some good periods again. But I think if I'm being fair, Sydney were poor today. Oh and Grant is such a grub.

More later... voice gone... dogs need a walk.

I dont know how I should be feeling after that. Sydney should have pumped us in the first 20 mins of each half. But they didn't. Izzo... IMMENSE! Some poor clearances, but if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have been within cooee of Sydney.

I'd like to think that it was the good ol' Mariners spirit on display today. I'm excited because the boys gave me a chance to dream. I actually thought we were going to win. The fact that we didn't hurts, but it's a hell of a lot better than what I was expecting today, i.e. I thought we were going to get thrashed.

The gap in quality between the two sides is wider than Sydney Heads, but the boys gave it a red hot crack, and that's all we can ask with this squad.

Very proud of the team today, takes a lot of guts to do that. The missus and I were screaming before the penalty why not Roy? If that was purely an ego grab then I am very, very disappointed. Rose was much improved today when he came on, constantly harried and harassed and worked his ass off. Good to see that he responded well. Pain was terrific when he came on, it's great to see that Paulo knows how to keep players motivated to improve even if they are not in the starting eleven.

I was shattered when I saw that Fab was going to take the pen. I cannot remember Roy ever looking like missing one but have always been scared when Fab has stepped up and carries on with the Mariner's pen tradition.

Why FFS???????

Roy did miss in his first competitive game for us - FFA Cup game against WelNux but apart from that I entirely agree.
Wondering if it was Macca bringing the mojo to the grounds ;-)

They were there for the taking but 2 terrible defensive errors got them out of jail - AR making a horrible offside call aside, we could have, should have done them.

I noticed that when someone at the back or a DM steps out with the ball and drives forward we had them in all sorts of trouble. That may have been a necessity as there was nothing from our "number 10" he didnt have a bad game, he just wasnt involved.

The other things I noticed is that Danny is still capable of looking utterly hopeless and Wilko is a shadow of the payer who left us.

Sigh....of COURSE we cop the wrong decision against us. Missed the game, only saw the highlights (and ffs, Fox Sports are terrible at highlights packages).

FFA cup Roy's first game maybe. Worst softest penalty ever.
Fab got out foxed by Danny. To long between penalty and taking it. Fab skied one last year to I think. Just horribly out of form

Just saw Nebakke said same should have read all before replying

From telegraph article from JP re: match
Almost a year ago to the day, Fabio Ferreira stepped up and sent a penalty into orbit against his former club Adelaide United.

And as Central Coast Mariners blew a chance to end Sydney FC’s unbeaten run to start the season, the Portuguese winger repeated the trick!

Missus said must get rid of McGing, I said we don't have anyone (Faty injured, Posco sick)
She said just get someone from the crowd. He is the weaker of the two defensively. Ashcroft a lot more physical and doesn't believe in marking shadows.

And you know if Carney is onside... he doesn't get to that ball.

We were luckless tonight - so many balls bounced or deflected the other way. Though our clumsiness makes me feel it was almost deserved. When SFC passed to us in the first two minutes under some decent pressure and we had a two on one... but both players decided to leave the ball behind... it really set our pretty calamitous tone. We were either good or horrid - and nothing in between. I thought we were a bit scared of their rep tonight and much more nervous on the ball than against City.

Thought Rose looked hungrier though (agree JP) and did well when he came on. But we need ball playing central midfielders ASAP or I'm sorry... sometimes you MUST play direct if A) you are almost out of time and need the ball up the other end or B) You are under pressure with no options.

Pain was awesome. Of course it's great having quality on the bench, but having him or trent on the bench is mental. At this point for me they both deserve the start over FAB. But prefer Fab to be on the park than Berry/Rose or Powell.

Fabio for Powell for me. Powell tries his damnedest but he simply isn't a creative enough player. Would love Kalik back on loan if we can't get a foreigner.
