Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I cant believe the amount of scum-love on this forum. Even if it's just relatievely speaking, i.e. I hate Cullina/Miron/Palmer/GCU more than the scum, it sickens me!

1st time in my life I have ever wanted the scum to win anything. Hopefully there is some sort of therapy/rehab process available?

Now normal service can be resumed and I want Perth to beat the Sheepshaggers and then give the scum an absolute twatting in front of a packed MES

Rehab involves watching images on Season 3 GF and Scum fans throwing coins at you until you wake up to yourself. You hate the scum and want to see them lose every time they walk onto the pitch.

WTF? Helps when you a) make up nicknames that make some sort of sense, and b) spell them correctly.

Why do Melb and Syd (2nd and 1st) play home and away finals but not the other 4 teams in the finals? Why wouldnt they all be home and away finals? What a fracking farce!

Reddy 2 great saves - meant this arvo's shootout was so much better than last night's.
Plus a 1-1 draw is so much more nailbiting in ET than a 0-0. It's more "who could score" than "who can hold out"

Come on you wello's on the 7th against the SCUM

Why should teams 3,4,5,6 get a home finals?

The finals system makes perfect sense.

1 and 2 play two-legged finals because it determines the GF host, and it means the loser gets a further chance.
Where as 3-6 have only knockout games. So for any of them to make the GF, they have to win 3 consecutive sudden death games (the last of which is against the loser of 1v2, at their home ground). It means that you really have to earn the right to a GF from 3-6, whilst the two best teams in the league are far better placed to make the GF (and rightfully so). Good system IMO - will make better sense when we have 11/12 teams.

Makes sense I agree, but I personally believe the best team is the team who finishes top over 27 rounds.

If Sydney played Newcastle in the final and Newcastle won, would they deserve to be crowed 'champion 09/10'?  f**k No!

We only have a finals series because league and AFL does, plus it makes a lot of money.

Would Newcastle be champions? f**k yes, because they handled the pressure of sudden-death football better than Sydney. Just the same as the FA cup, and other sudden-death comps around the place.

Finals make a lot of money because a lot of people like finals and are prepared to fork out their hard-earned to go see them.

I must admit to some puzzlement as to why those who don't like finals bother to watch them and comment on them.

The FA Cup is nothing like finals at all - it has a draw for every round, and goes for half the season, concurrent to the league.

The Newcastle result is perfect proof of why a finals series is shit - they will now be thought by the majority to have had a better season than Gold Coast, when this is anything but true.
