ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Why should teams 3,4,5,6 get a home finals?

Why are there finals?

1 and 2 play two-legged finals because it determines the GF host, and it means the loser gets a further chance.
Where as 3-6 have only knockout games. So for any of them to make the GF, they have to win 3 consecutive sudden death games (the last of which is against the loser of 1v2, at their home ground). It means that you really have to earn the right to a GF from 3-6, whilst the two best teams in the league are far better placed to make the GF (and rightfully so). Good system IMO - will make better sense when we have 11/12 teams.

Makes sense I agree, but I personally believe the best team is the team who finishes top over 27 rounds.
If Sydney played Newcastle in the final and Newcastle won, would they deserve to be crowed 'champion 09/10'? f**k No!
We only have a finals series because league and AFL does, plus it makes a lot of money.

Would Newcastle be champions? f**k yes, because they handled the pressure of sudden-death football better than Sydney. Just the same as the FA cup, and other sudden-death comps around the place.
Finals make a lot of money because a lot of people like finals and are prepared to fork out their hard-earned to go see them.
I must admit to some puzzlement as to why those who don't like finals bother to watch them and comment on them.
