ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

My initial response to your strange attack wasnt really on, I have a shit bad hang over and I shouldnt have taken the opportunity to show you up like that.

I think I have clearly divided the 2 issues but if others cant see that...........

I am 100% for protective head gear in football.

If it saves one life it's worth it.

Alex had so much to give. Just some light head gear has been the difference between so much. It should not happen again.

How would the FFA, FIFA even, react to head gear being worn, and the effect it may have on 'heading' the ball. Whilst any fatality is a tragedy, these things happen, life goes on! I have two kids and am sure if one of them had something like this occur, I too may look for a fix, even though it may be a bit of a 'knee jerk' reaction. I witnessed a death in a car due to an unlucky circumstance, the drivers head hit the 'B' pillar right where it shouldn't have. It was an inconsequential accident, yet someone died, should we all wear helmets every time we get in a car? It would lower the road toll!
Bad things happen all the time, and always will. My feelings go out to the kid, and his family. Lets hope this is a freakish accident and will never be seen again, I for one, have not heard of this kind of accident in football..
