ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sorry Roy. All of the above are out. How can Moss and Jacobs be aware of it when they have been at about two games all year and Jacobs less. The local boys stayed loyal to the coast and have been let down badly. Plenty of frustrated, players , coaches and parents left scratching their heads.

Correct the NYL is a breeding ground for the Mariners. Therefore best young talent should be secured.
Coast or not. Ideally you would like maybe half the side to be coast.

Only the best will make it to the Mariners & we'd hope a couple of juniors make it but the NYL IMO is not about having an exclusively coast team.

Duke, Ibini etc were not born & bread Coasties who progressed from NYL to Mariners.

Yes, I find that a little surprising. That said, the NYL was woeful last year. I don't pretend to know what the selection process is but hope we again produce top quality players.

Yes, NYL was poor last year. But why are the local boys left out of the squad when they were the young players being developed and train ons? Forgive me for being cynical but seems to me that the problems between CCF and Mariners may have been a factor in all of this.

The Mariners have taken four NYL players to Lismore -Max Versi, Nick Petrillo, Adam Pearce, and Jake McGing. The name of Jake McGing struck a chord - he was with the Wanderers last year. I know nothing about him, YouTube video has him seeming to be a strongly built midfield player with a good pass; it would be nice to think we can take good kids from our opposition, esp WSW.
Adam Pearce is a goalkeeper: 1.98 cms tall with good feet, apparently as good feet as an outfield player. I remember reading about him when he joined the Jets NYL and wondered why we, with our excellent goalkeeping coaches, could not attract him; now we have!
Two kids from bitter rivals, perhaps the Mariners reputation as a great club for young players to join still carries weight.

A big keeper with good feet? Coached well he could be a star. Good to see we're trying the NYL kids out anyway. Get them to play the Mariners way from the start.

Why are they not still with WSW & Jets? No good? Bad judges? Better opportunities at CCM?

Jake McGing is a defensive midfielder who was the Wanderers NYL player of the year last season so may be a great pickup with Monty and Hutch near the end of their careers.
We should see an improvement in our NYL this year with the four mentioned above joining Kailik, Rose, Slater and Curran.

Pish. When players are picked, it's because the selectors are corrupt. When players are cut it's because the selectors don't know talent when they see it.

I did talk to a youth coach once (many years ago now) who said that a mother came up to him and offered to blow him behind the shed if he picked her boy. He scored a blowie and still cut the kid. :p
