Misquoting doesn't become you Jaza.

McKay Murdooca were clearly a successful pairing and have obviously been missed by Roar - who have not been successful, and are looking even less so without them.

I'd argue they haven't been succesful at all and I've said for years that they are incredibly overrated. Murdocca is generally rubbish, and McKay is very much overrated because he's left-footed.

They can't control a midfield between them, neither is especially goal-hungry, and seem to get by just running around a lot and getting credit for it. It's always pissed me off - BRFC only ever boss the midfield when Tiatto plays. Their 'success' has only ever come from counter-attacking football which seldom uses the midfield other than getting the ball to their attacking outlets quickly. Every time BRFC get stuck in to a midfield battle they generally lose it.

Bojic + Travis/McGarnacle is a far better CM pairing IMO. I'd also say Nikkas looks like he has potential to be better than either  (although he does walk around like a princess - will be interesting to see how he copes with the HAL's harder men when he makes the step up).

On topic, interesting to note that the AIS is playing 15-18yr olds in this competition this year. Their goalkeeper looked tiny when they played us, then I found out he's 16 :S

Mmm... I've watched the two M's run over the top of our midfield too many times for my liking so have been forced to rate their combined work rate.

Re Panni walking like a princess...
Disagree.
I see a young prince looking out over the kingdom that may well one day be his.

But I do respect your judgement in this regard,
having had Brosque in your team for so long - you would be quite an expert on princesses by now.

Interesting game, BRFC kept most of theirs from last year, they had a very young squad and came 3rd.

Very interesting comment from the coach too. Obviously we are much more serious this season.

"We took two players off at half time because either they werent coping with the emotional aspects of the game, not coping with the pressure of playing at this level, or (not reaching) the work ethic that is required.

"If you are going to have an impact against A-League opponents, then the players have to learn very quickly that they need to go about their business a different way, and they need to work much harder.

Interesting comment FFC especially about Mallia. I know they have high hopes for him.

Yeh they do, i heard he was throwing up before he game, hes still only 17 y/o so im assuming hes still nervous. Thats probably what the coach was reffering to talking about the emotional aspect of the game. I'm sure he'll get through it.

Also heard the own goal was a cracker. near the half way line. Wasnt there so can't confirm.

No wonder we have started well in the NYL with Huke, Clark, Dappuzzo, Mrdja, Elrich and Lewis all members of the first team squad; and four of them work hard too! Add Sherlock, Nikas and Smith and it all looks good. BTW, does anyone know where the yoof are playing the home game against Adelaide? Is it on the Coast, in Canberra or some obscure Sydney location?
