ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The boys were serviceable today but as soon as Manly scored we went to sh*t sadly. They look like they don’t believe they can win at the moment and missing penalties certainly isn’t helping.

Thankfully they are well clear of the relegation zone, so just need to ride out the last game and then look to reset for next season.

Sad fact of life in an elite academy. Brutal Darwinism.
The most likely outcome for any young kid along the pathway is that they won't make it.
Sad but the hardest lesson these kids have to learn is not everyone gets a prize.

I think by this age you're well aware. They've seen friends and coaches sacked for limited reasons in the last couple years.

That’s shit but also a likely outcome for many, unfortunately
Hopefully when the 2nd starts up there’s a better chance to loan out our academy

I wouldn't necessarily jump to the conclusion of poor culture. The club has a psychologist who helps at all levels and specifically mentioned the building of resilience to cope with these decisions.

It could also be they were told this early because the players were seeking confirmation so they could take up opportunities elsewhere. They may have preferred staying here, but have other offers.

When your not called up for first team preseason or received a scholarship and you are getting close to the age limit. They have already told you where you stand.

Unfortunately this is where the cut throat business portion comes in. It’s not a weekend team.

Still the optics of some decisions aren’t great.

That said Monty hasn’t been proven wrong by anyone i can think of.
