ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The NPL team will be domestically playing under 23s. Every single player in their national team proper plays domestically according to wiki. Their national team is ranked 150th.

I doubt that would be a serious challenger to an A-League like, say, Melbourne Victory, who boast Australian internationals and former internationals for foreign squads.
Fair call.

Can't see them being big crowd pullers though. Also seems a bit funny with the FFA wanting to move away from effnik sockah but if they're going to go down that path they would have to look at Indonesia as well or instead. They have great support for football over there. An away trip would be something else, not for the faint hearted.

Balance that with one of those teams potentially grabbing a ACL spot. Still not a fan.

ACL spots is based on home nation, not competition played in. Like Welly can't get a ACL spot because they are home nation in New Zealand, which is part of OFC not AFC.

Talking of which, this is why I think Welly being in the FFA cup is bung. They should play in a NZFA Cup, and give the FFA Cup winner a ACL spot.

I thought the only reason WP could not qualify was because they're OFC?

AFAIK WP are not allowed in their local cup is because they are professional team while the local teams are amateur. Poor Nix don't fit anywhere.
I think the AFC will allocate a spot for the FFA Cup*. Probably the GF winner spot.

*Giggle. Still excited.

Aye, what I mean to say is like, say, Lichtenstein teams. They can qualify into the Europa league via the Lichtenstein cup, but because their league football plays through the Swiss leagues they don't get a Champions League spot. But you're right, they have a massive leg up over other New Zealand teams… maybe their yoof team should play in the NZF cup (if there is one? I don't follow their football. Plus I thought they had one or two pro teams in their top league)

Update on a few teams.

A-League aspirants:
South Coast Wolves NSW NPL - 12th, bottom of the table. 6 games completed
Northern Fury QNPL - 6th mid table 6 games completed
Sunshine Coast QNPL - 8th mid table 7 games completed
Western Pride QNPL - 12th second last. 6 games completed

And the coaches:
Branko Culina - Rockdale City Suns - sitting 3rd 6 games completed
Mark Rudan - Sydney United - sitting 7th 6 games completed
Miron Bleiberg - Oakleigh Cannons - sitting 2nd 5 games completed

So Bleiberg is just behind South Melbourne who are 5 games in as well and top of the table and Culina is not doing too bad either.
Mark Rudan is having a slow start in mid table.

I'll add MK because they were mentioned earlier in the thread:
Melbourne knights - sitting in 7th, 5 games completed
