I'll take the 1 1/2 yrs suspended sentence. He has to go though. We can't have players touching the officials. I hate to admit it, he has to go!

It is FIFA recommended 1 year at least

I predict a 3 month ban with 12 month Suspended sentance and a fair fine ($5000).
Heard on FSN that there is a loophole where by he can get most of his ban suspended.
FFA have a track record of suspending sentances so that is likely.

im not gullible its just that knowing the FFA i just dont know what is believable. I could imagine that making a complaint would incur a life ban from Australias most dictatorial organisation

if he does get banned i reckon we should still sing the Danny Vukovic song before a game and during half time in order to keep him keen on the game so he keeps in practice for when he returns and to get up the FFA and Shields but not at the expense of the replacement keeper during the game. IMO we need to support whoever is in between the posts whole heartedly even if it isnt Danny

I wouldn't put it past them though, If coaches and managers etc can't say anything bad about refs, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't be too long before fans can get fined too...

If he gets the ban from the FFA, i would say he will move on. It doesnt sound like it would be a FIFA ban, so he would be eligble elsewhere

Hi5 lands Vukovic in hot water

Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Danny Vukovic has landed himself in hot water after giving referee Mark Shields a Hi5 in the A-League Grand Final on Sunday.

Media reports are suggesting Vukovic could be slapped with a anything from a one year to a life ban for manhandling referee Shields.

Whilst not condoning the actions of Vukovic, it must be said that the standard of refereeing in the A-League has been very poor in season 2007/2008. Referee Mark Shields hardly covered himself in glory after missing a blatant and deliberate hand ball in the penalty area in the final seconds of the match on Sunday.

Immediately after the handball Shields is surrounded by several Central Coast Mariners players. Striker Petrovski appears to give Shields out-stretched hand the first Hi5. Then Vukovic follows up with a second Hi5 and starts heading back to his penalty area. Referee Shields reacts immediately showing Vukovic a red card.

It was a stupid action by Danny Vukovic who has subsequently apologised to Mark Shields. Lets hope the FFA take into account Vukovic's remorse and the charged grand final atmosphere and dont rub out Australia's most talented young goalkeepers for an extended period.

If I could get to both those F***W*** Shields and Breeze, I'd be arrested for sure, as I would make sure they never ref again, or get beaten black and blue, as for people asking where Shields lives, I'm pretty sure it's up Con Constantine's or Frank Lowy's A**, and his room mate is definitely Breeze. Chin up Danny, we love you, we're behind you all the way. You're the best A-league has to offer in goal keepers, and they just can't stand that, the F******.
