Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

Very true. Any hate towards Alfie is severely misdirected IMO. He’s the only midfielder constantly trying to create things. Even Doka has started to go missing regularly and would rather bitch at team mates. Same with Mauragis, one of only a couple constantly having a genuine crack. Most of the rest seriously have to look at themselves in the mirror and start asking questions.
When shit starts going slightly wrong 90% of them start bitching at each other. That was the entire downfall in this match. Paull f**ked up and lost the ball, Brian looked like a park footballer not knowing Goodwin was running behind him (pretty f**king obvious) and it all fell apart from there. They started quite well until that moment and it was honestly just pure mental weakness. Not a genuine leader on the park. The turn around from the Sydney match to this one was shocking. There is something seriously wrong with the dressing room.
I dont think anybody "hates" anyone. Unfortunately for him he isnt as good as the player(s) he replaced. The Max from Wish if you like

Arguably our worst performance in 4 years..

We need our injured players back.

Aside from the poor performance I was stunned by only 4k crowd, especially after the Sydney win.

CEOs get rated on key metrics and IMO given we are defending champions both the Sydney crowd and Fridays nights were below what's acceptable

As I said earlier this was a terrible game by us hopefully it will improve otherwise we are in trouble

. to be fair, the merch outlet at the game was very low on stock and they were telling people the new stock was expected today

. conversely those that enquired before the match may be less inclined to purchase now ... but at least they're aware (well, at they would be if they if they're Muskaberg devotees)

Max wasn't always this quality. Alfie actually has the potential to be as good as Maxy. They real problem is we didn't replace Nizzy.
We almost never won when Nizzy didn't play......thats how good he was.

I don’t think Alfie has the motor of Max. Max was a true box to box midfielder and his workload in both attack and defence is pretty much irreplaceable in this league.

The issue with the CM area right now is, Alfie is naturally a deep lying mid, starter of attacks. Steely is your holding mid that in theory should win the ball back and move it on, recycling the ball. They’re too similar. Neither can break lines with a dribble etc. which is what max and niz were so f**king good at. I do genuinely like both players. They are good players for this league. Alfie clearly has more potential than steely.
But they’re too similar. Alfie with Tappy would work so well, not sure we appreciate just how big of a loss Tappy is.

I do like that Doka has been experimented in the 10, but he’s abit lost and overwhelmed there.
