Boogs Wilko Stringers Ceccoli

Tommy Mile Hutch Kwas

Sash Aloisi

I think Stringers would provide a great option in the air from set pieces as their keeper falafel isnt the greatest exponent of commanding the air

I'd go along with that lineup for the most part, although I'd stick with Porter at RB....really not sure he's played that badly, and he'll never realise his potential if he doesn't get a decent run. For me, he gets forward well, and is one of the better crossers in the team. I'd put Boogs & Wilko together in central defence, and have Ceccoli at left back, if he's fit enough. Stringers still looks rusty (understandable given his lack of match time), and the way he went about trying to single handedly maim the entire Melbourne team last week makes me worry about the damage he could cause going into the final 3 games. He needs game time, but we could maybe introduce him slowly into games where we are in a comfortable enough position to do so.

Also, and sorry guys this isn't meant to be the start of another "Sack Him" thread, but I honestly can't see what Kwasnik has done since his move to midfield that merits a regular starting spot. Yes, he got what could have been a crucial goal against Bling and No, I'm not blaming him for his red card. In general terms, I don't think he contributes much, and I think both Gumps and Owens (assuming they're both fit) would add more to the team.

One other thing (which may have been noted elsewhere) is that Adelaide losing to Newcastle last night has guaranteed us a spot in the finals at the very least.....unless my maths is worse that I thought?? Obviously 1st or at the least 2nd spot is what we should be aiming for, but that's at least 1 less thing to worry about.

Sensible comments.

With Alvin in at LB and Boogs back ,the back four will be alot stronger, especially with the confidence of Danny back in goals.
Hutcho will spark us again and I see us winning this one 3.1.
I'd like to see Simon come off the bench with 20 mins to go and slot a nice goal to lift the monkey off his back and give him some reward for his efforts so far this season.

kwassie was on fire early in the season dude. it wasnt until he got injured, he hasnt hit any form since, lack of confidence etc. same with wilko, i dont think he has played to his potential since returning.

as for gumprecht, i dont think he is coming back. his mate told me sydney were considering him, but then signed colosimo, and he wants to stay on the coast... so he doesnt know what he is doing.

the article on the two new teams in the paper had all the possibilities they could sign, gumprecht and ceccoli were 2 of them. so i guess thats further evidence that he wont b back.

i reckon the goal kwasnik got against sydney has done him the world of good and we all know how well he can play so it might be time to give him another decent run especially if owens is doubtful

id prefer owens over kwassie right now. f**k hes awesome. do we have him for next year?

I think it is pretty clear now that Lawrie's preferred 4 in midfield are Owens, Tommy, Jedi and Hutch with Kwassy first reserve.
I would not argue with that.

Melbourne did the right thing for us - two goals on the break like last week.

Fingers crossed for a good win in Perth!

Guys,

The Melbourne win was an absolute gift for us tonight.  :vhappy:

If we dont capatalise against Perth then we dont deserve to win the minor premiership,simple....!!!!  :soapbox:

I agree.

I was thinking draw away, win at home will do it, but f**k that. Wrap it up ASAP!.

Perth is just as good a chance for a win as the Newcastle derby. Let's not leave anything to chance or rely on other results.

I still think Jedi would be better at CM he's scoring goals and promising more.
I think he will weaken the back line, same with stringers.

Porter  Wilko  Boogs  Ceccoli

Tommy P            Owens (if fit)

Porter does not do the job at RB - he is a midfielder. If you stay with Wilko in the middle - I wouldn't - then I would prefer Owens at RB and Kwas at LM

I know Lawrie likes 4-4-2 but I would love to see a lineup like below tried at some time. Today may not be the ideal time for experiments though!!!

------------Danny

----Wilko---Boogs----Checkers

------------Jedi

Owens-------------------------Hutch

-----------Pondeljak

-Petrovski-----JA-----Kwas/Simon

That lineup leaves us exposed at the back since checkers isnt a centre defender he is a fullback

Petkovic will be starting and so will Lazza

Expect Harnwell to start in defence as it was our defence that cost us the game last week - it was a rabble. So was the whole team infact. And with Dino still out we will need Jamie back there. Expect him to go forward for the set pieces and through the game occasionally though.

Good thing with Mitch in charge is that it is a shit load easier predicting the glory's starting line up then what it was under Woodlips smith.

I can see it being something like this

Petkovic

Coyne Harnwell Foxe Topor-Stanley

Downey Bertos Colosimo Lazarides

Rukavitsya Robinson

Bench:

Velaphi
Celeski
Rizzo
Karpeh

OR
