ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I feel like an underrated highlight of last night was the normally mild-mannered Kye running 20 metres to shirt front the grub Hoffman after he had his second hack at Faz, and looking like it was very much Hoffman's plan to try and intimidate him.

The beauty of it was that it didn't feel like an angry out of control reaction by, but very deliberate and considered but still aggressive and putting Hoffman on notice, a case of letting him know "you don't mess with any of the Mariners kids on my watch".
I haven't watched it back yet to see if I missed anything (just about to crack a beer and do so now) but I thought Kye was outstanding generally last night and was my MoM.

2 points to Beni and I know its going to upset some but 1 point to Ballard. He takes a lot of right options and sprayed some lovely balls around at times, and yes, interspersed with the odd not-so-lovely ones or cheap turnovers, but where he does make an error it is often because he is also looking to deliver quality ball forward as his first option rather than taking an easy back pass option.

Totally agree. The travelling fans definitely got us home and were the difference. The Arsenal fan was absolutely amazing…
Yeah what a champion that Arsenal guy was with the Ozil name on his back. He never stopped and would have no voice today . Also how about that dopey Jets fan with his boyfriends blowup toy Jet on his arm. What a moron and would have been absolutely belted anywhere other than Australia.

I thought Sacko was unusually restrained with that guy by only grabbing him by the collar. I have seen him knock people out at that ground.

If we were losing I think that guy would have been nursing more bruises this morning.

What an amazing, amazing atmosphere and great win by the boys. That was one of the best away derbies. Hats off to Pete, Jimmy and co, especially the mariners fan in the arsenal shirt, your passion was immense. ???
Haha, the Mariners fan in the arsenal shirt, straight from the gym to lead chants for most of the night, a legend but wish it was a Mariners shirt!!

I’ve said when I thought Max was still playing under par for a starting spot at this level. But I thought he had a very good game last night after the first 20. That said, it’s hard to argue that we miss the physicality that is more typical playing with two DM’s and Papas extra man in the mids pressuring hard almost undid us in the first 20.

Im actually with FFC on Papas. He took a leaf out of Talays game plans and we looked unable to get any midfield control early. Had Birra been off his game or either nix or scum more clinical - both games could have played out very differently.

But fortunately just like the Nix, hard to keep that pressing intensity up forever and once we weather the storm and you give us space we can nick a goal and really ruin the plan. Wet ball also helped their press, made first touches that harder to keep close.

So I still worry a bit though about us being run over the top of in the finals when teams like City and MV employ the same kind of midfield aggression and press but are much more lethal upfront.

But let’s get there first.

you missed a classic lad .i thought ccm v scum 1 this season was good .
but that maybe have been the best ccm game i've ever been to .
This covid shit has been knocking us around......too many family got it, then us, and then more family and friends....... too scared to mix with people because we dont want to infect anyone.

Watched the game on TV and the atmosphere was excellent and as usual we owned the Scumdome.

Never had a dull game in that cesspit but that looked choice on TV.

Yeah I gave Kye my 3 points.

i noticed that too. Kye is has become an absolute god this season. He’s been so incredibly consistent and taken his game up about 10 levels along with his maturity. I know he’s been given Roos recognition but I still feel like he’s gone under the radar. When he does go overseas (I’d imagine Europe) I truly hope he has a solid agent and advisors helping him get a good club and league so he really is able to kick on. Sky’s the limit as far as I’m concerned with Kye.
and we’ll be so fine when he finally gets his deserved move, hally as we all know is phenomenal, especially for a first full season. Ruon when he’s ready to comeback is great and then Windust is a rough gem next in line.

In a weird kinda way Ollie choosing his path has led to others getting their chance and used to playing together.... our midfield today with near the same players from the start of the season his highly improved, growing in confidence, and not the walk thu midfield it was that sprayed passes everywhere...

Without Ollie we don't have to channel every ball through one player, it became predictable. The thing i like the most about Nisbet is as soon as he gets the ball he's looking to move it forward. We were lacking that previously. Playing a lot less pass back now.

I wish I had grabbed his name mate but he seemed friendly with a lot of the fellas chanting down the front, I'm sure someone knows him.

His name's Michael.
He's been in the bay on and off since the GF season from memory.

He did a great job getting the top half of the supporters involved so full credit to him for that.

I'm glad you all appreciated him, however, I didn't appreciate the way he carelessly barged me over a number of times. I was happier when he moved as it was getting a bit dangerous.
