It was just great to see a decent size crowd and people buzzing with excitement. Great result from the team, so glad we got the win, hopefully it will bring people back with a few more who are suffering from FOMO today. I must say Gosford was alive last night, businesses must of loved it. We had a couple of beers in the Hawkesbury pop up bar in Kibble Park before grabbing a feed. Enjoyed it immensely.

Though Kye was brilliant again last night, but gave my MOM to Max, thought he was just sensational last night.

Bring on the finals, we can do this
Max 100% did the job that Niz normally would. He was excellent.

I've never been so disappointed with the West and East responses for "Who do we sing for?"

We've heard four times as loud from half the people.
Was it that people didn't know or didn't care?
Bay 16s coordination of the chant still needs some work under the new capo. But I thought we did enough for a decent reply.

Everyone in the bay was a bit shocked at how quiet the response was.
Others have said already - but I sat at the halfway line and didn't hear the Who do we sing for at all. Normally get into it and was ready to get the kids to get into it but just didn't think it occurred.

Suspect with the larger crowd size we couldn't hear you

11700 was a great crowd number, that must be easily the biggest this season by a few thousand.
I think 7k or 8k might have been the largest so far. Great turnout and game. Team played well with the changes, very impressed with the midfield and no Nizz was going to be the largest hole to fill but they both performed admirably and have grown significantly this season.

I think back to the Cup final now and how much that game despite the result will help this young team in our finals run. Invaluable experience to have under our belt. I was concerned last nights game was a real banana skin, big crowd and fireworks so could have been a disaster but it shows how much this team has grown. Didn’t miss a beat and had their measure all game.

It was a weird crowd last night.
I sit in the eastern stand as most on here know and although I`ve no doubt bay 16 sang there hearts out, but we could barely hear you guys.
Whether it was the hum of the crowd or something else but it was very noticeable that the sounds wasn`t carrying as it usually does...

I thought that was Roux`s best performance this season.
Dealing with Yuel isn`t an easy assignment but Stormy handled it admirably.
Balard was just awesome and is rapidly developing into a class player.
Windust didn`t look out of place and never put a foot wrong.
Not sure how Monty is going to deal with the abundance of talented defenders we have
but it`s a nice situation when he can blood another CB whilst leaving a Socceroo CB on the bench...

On a sadder note though,it was a shame Matty didn`t get a few minutes last night.
A send off in a winning team against the Jets would have been awesome.
I suppose it just another example of how professional Monty is with no room for sentiment.

- Bay 16 was the most full it has been in ages, even if the normies in the front rows didn’t bother to stand once. And the Eastern/ Western stands- wtf? Of all nights not to enthusiastically respond to ‘Who Do We Sing For?’ Bay 16 was at least as in-song as they were for the game in Newcastle a couple of weeks ago. Just could’ve been something amazing if the other stands got involved as much as they have in more minor games with smaller crowds.

- CCM on top all match virtually, although Jest had a couple unlucky shots that could’ve been goals on another night. Still CCM had more shots on goal squandered and so the law of averages came into effect even if the midfield battle was clearly CCM winning it.

- Goal for Cum Dog 1st half, amazing individual shot from outside the box that seemed to go in slow motion as the ball looped into the net.

- The one for Kuol second half was notably technical in contact. He narrowly won a game of chicken with their keeper to take the ball off him then shoot it mid-paced into the back of the net.

- Pleasing to see most of the Northern Concourse stayed back for the players after the fireworks display had ended.

- A great end to the regular season with a reasonably comfortable 2-0 win and the announcement of the ownership change with good things being said about future sustainability and youth development. Feels as if we could be headed back to the good old days of 2005-14 or maybe then some?
You must have had a few drinkies LFC - Cummings was well inside the box mate and Nkololo scored the second one...

Re Max, yeah for me definitely his best game in yellow so far and he was excellent.

I really thought he needed another season to hit this form consistently - but the time and trust Monty has given him (and opportunity Olly has) he’s grabbed with both hands and is going from strength to strength. He handled a much higher tempo in midfield last night with real skill. Loved it.

Rowles is a such pro now. What more could you want.

Agree that Storm had a very good game against an exhausting, relentless Yuel - who’s a quality and clean footballer - so obviously doesn’t belong at the scum. Unlike that young winger - Maggot im pretty sure it’s pronounced. Perfect fit.

There were two problems with it

First was that when you went to do it we were attacking and just got a corner at the far end. Everyone in the east stand was looking the other way. You probably noticed that not many were waving back at you.

Then when the West side was called they didn’t respond. Usually that response gets half the east ready and then when the chant starts on the east the rest catch on.

The second point as @style_cafe mentioned is your sound didn’t carry well at all tonight and usually a night game is alot louder. I think it might have been the wind because most chants weren’t that loud and you had more and looked to be doing a ripping job but it didn’t carry.

Then as mentioned there was a certain noise level already from the crowd that isn’t there and alot of it was people who just wanted to chat. The couple of young lads behind me didn’t stop the whole time. They were funny but one never took a breath until halftime piss. I think it was more a social catch up for a lot of people more than a crowd interested in the finer details of the game. They wanted goals, saves and fireworks.

There was no booing of Penha which made me angry. While it was a great crowd it was a cafe style catch up.

So if you could just look at the timing of the chant. When the ball is up the bay end or when something exciting is not happening down the other end you would have got a different result. Just maybe a little inexperience on the mega call. Needed better timing and get more people waving etc instead he rushed it a tad and missed the opportunity but it probably wasn’t a crowd all that interested as well

You and me have been tough critics of Max but that was by far his best game.

The main difference was his release passes were into space and not getting cut off.

Also when he plays with Steele there is a no dominant partner.

With Niz because he is so good he is very dominant in possession and Max gets left out a lot.

He plays higher with Nizz and more box to box with Steele.

Both played there best in a while but the Jets may have contributed by being shit themselves

And Urena a yellow for backchat
Was actually for kicking the ball away even though it was our possession after a foul that had someone on our team down for a bit. Marco and I couldn’t believe. Atrocious call.

Then 2mins later a jet did the same thing n.27 after another foul and Fahgarni didn’t quite see it but knew what had happened ignored it Marco gave him a blast that got him a little chat.

Fagharni had a stinker and the linesman were horrible to. Very Jets way game.

Fagharni lets things go and that doesn’t suit us. Miller specifically was on the ground alot tonight and was fouled on half of them and got absolutely nothing from the ref.

Yep as soon you saw he was the ref you knew it was not a good thing for us. Tbf, bad as they are, I feared the jets would be a lot dirtier last night.

Foul count was 15-11. Their way. Could have been a lot higher. And we only had 39 percent possession…

I think you hit the nail on the head with much of the crowd just wanting a social catch up. I was with the fam in Bay 11 to begin with and when people behind us were asking “what is this song” in mocking fashion (won’t back down) I knew we were in trouble. I moved pretty quickly.
Hubby said he couldn’t hear the “who do we sing for” at all ?
I actually enjoyed the late mid week games with 2000 of us there because while it’s a fraction of the crowd, everybody there is invested and passionate.
great job to the Army as always.. was a brilliant way to spend the night and the players 100% appreciated the effort.

The Koul’s are a big family
If we want kids to go through to EPL level, we need academies like Europe does down the age groups to like u10. Thats an expensive process. And a long term process.

Ajax do and how many players from there are in the EPL?
