ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Contract expires 2025 (9)

Brandtman
Duarte
Kaltak
Kuzevski
McCalmont
Paull
Smith
Theoharous
Warshawsky

These are the players who are off contract at the end of this season, and these are the ones who need to be addressed first.

Brandtman I would re-sign. I think he has enough potential to develop and we are yet to see his best at A league level.
Duarte definitely.
Kaltak is supposedly off to Asia.
Kuzevski. If he is not too much of an injury risk, yes. Hope to hear soon.
McCalmont. I do not see us getting anyone better without spending a lot of money. Depends on how much he costs. I think he is better than Harry, but I think it will come down to finances.
Paul. Re-sign him if we can. I suspect there may be competition from other clubs.
Smith. Let go.
Theo. I think we could use the money on signing our own up and comers.
Warshawsky. We have a second keeper already signed for another year. Do we let him go, carry an excess of young keepers again or spend money to buy out Pav?

For those who expire next year if we want to get rid of them it will cost money unless they have other options. Some may be happy to train, watch games and take a wage.

It will be interesting to see how it is all juggled.

I would prefer to see our academy products favoured, for all the obvious reasons.

For all those worried about next year back under MC, I suggest you have a look at the 21/22 season. This was the season before Peil appeared on the scene. It was not to shabby.

The disaster seasons were not caused just by lack of funding. The Club's selection of managers had a much larger contribution to our poor performances. As well the Academy was not yet producing the young players that it has been in recent years.

Ok the A league funding will less and money will be tight, but I am not ready to declare "We'll all be rooned'.

So what I gain from this is Bailey and Eames are the future, which we already knew and that contrary to people's beliefs on this Forum we don't need a new GK

Yes but that was also when the academy was being run by Monty and serge, and it was a real production line, peil also damaged the academy and it’s no where near the state it was back then either, yes we still have a good crop now, but after this crop it’s not great

So we want the league to lift the salary cap (make it higher), so the big clubs don't give as many minutes to youth and we will be more attractive again for young players.

100%, has shown a good amount of potential. Great ticker and solid technical base to build upon. Easily a better technical player than Kuol with similar physical effort.
Hmm. No one gives a similar effort to Kuol. Probably has the highest workrate in the AL.

I would actually look at converting Kuol to a CB. I'd love to see if he could convert because when he defends a corner or set piece he is often our best defender.

Nice idea, unfortunately his first touch is quite often lacking. Could be fatal at the back.

Alou gave me a memory with son and daughter I will always have. First season headers to win the game. Behind the goal view. Forever seared in my brain. Alou Kouollll!!! Am a fan and dream of seeing Kuol brothers one day up front together under anyone, even Popa.

I still have hope he snags a ball off the goalie for a goal this season. One home game remains Alou, cmon you got this!

Maybe do a Joelinton at Newcastle United to him, signed as a forward, struggled, Howe moved him to midfield and he is killing it.

Has a natural instinct to stay back as well. Sometimes he is further back than he should be.

I also wondered if it might be possible.

Has the speed and athleticism for the headers. Playing out from the back probably the only issue
