I'd be thinking long and hard about whether an extension is worth it. Injury proneness is something that needs to be taken into account when signing contracts.

Very capable player and one of the genuinely nicest players I’ve come across (I feel like I say this a lot - probably goes to show the culture in the squad 😅 I mean it doubly so for Smit). Simply out of favour but will keep working to try and earn a spot back in the squad.
Remember when we first signed him? Same deal - wasn’t training well, wasn’t getting minutes - then broke into the squad and did very well. Unfortunately by that point it was too late as he’d already signed a pre-contract with Vuck 😂 Mont was gutted as he wanted to keep him, but we couldn’t make an offer whilst the ownership situation was a bit up in the air.

He was genuinely gutted to go, too, loves it here; it’s almost like he knew what was going to happen the following season 😉
If he does end up moving on, I hope for his sake he ends up back at Adelaide and gets back to enjoying it - frustrating situation for him at the moment.
