ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.
Its completely incongruous to the MO of the club.Whoever we sign for me it'll be a matter of in MJ we trust. He's shown himself the goods so far, so will extend the trust
What is?Its completely incongruous to the MO of the club.
Signing a 33yo who hasn't played football in 6m who was playing in Indo. Hardly finding gems for Visa players. What is?
Dick Pile is running things.MJ may have a different strategy to Monty. Maybe not every player needs to be sellable.
If he finds a hole or one is created by a sale he could just fill it with a player that suits the team. The better the team plays the better chance of selling others.
I think both these things are possible. Obviously the plan is still to develop and sell, but then you get a deal like Reec coming back on loan which either has some triggers/clauses we aren't privy to or is about plugging a gap. A 34 year old winger is never getting sold on but if he helps sell someone else that might be enough. They might also just be a right player right price situation.MJ may have a different strategy to Monty. Maybe not every player needs to be sellable.

Ah I see.Signing a 33yo who hasn't played football in 6m who was playing in Indo. Hardly finding gems for Visa players.
All good. In the same book, just were on different pages.Ah I see.
I assume that this is just baseless rumour and I don't think for a moment it is happening.
My comment was about the type of signing we're likely to get. A relatively unknown name who is not impressing in a middle teir league from a decent footballing country.
Nkololo, Torres, even the Dingo and Tulio were like this to some degree.
We trusted Monty with these sorts of signings. They weren't always perfect and he moved quickly to adjust (ahem, Kalechi etc), but found a few excellent prospects too.
That's what I meant, in MJ I'll trust with a signing like that and see how it goes. It's the kind of signing I actually expect. MJ plays a fast, strong, pressing, and fitness based game. Washed up near retirees are, presumably, not even under consideration
He may well do but only 2 people make decisions and he isn't one of them. ?MJ may have a different strategy to Monty. Maybe not every player needs to be sellable.

Probably but he has his leeds card to get to the table. He may well do but only 2 people make decisions and he isn't one of them. ?

I very much doubt that we would sign Rafinha. But the past MO of the Club has been to bring on young Academy players and overlooked visa young players, but with a few older heads to provide experience and guidance. Its completely incongruous to the MO of the club.
Don't think we will loose Danny, except on the pitchI very much doubt that we would sign Rafinha. But the past MO of the Club has been to bring on young Academy players and overlooked visa young players, but with a few older heads to provide experience and guidance.
At the moment we have Storm and Danny (Kaltak is only in his second pro season). We have lost Tulio and Cumdog and will probably lose Danny at the end of the year.
I would not be surprised to see a visa signing in the 28 - 32 year old bracket.
Damn, so most of us posters are little or no chance of a deal?Ah I see.

If they were the right price and were still in decent condition that wouldn’t be the worst thing..I would not be surprised to see a visa signing in the 28 - 32 year old bracket.
I’d love to see another “broich”If they were the right price and were still in decent condition that wouldn’t be the worst thing.
Not for resale but to increase the quality and bring in crowds.
Ninkovic, Broich, Berisha were all in that range and they were ok.
Ninkovic in his first few years at Sydney was as good as anyone.I’d love to see another “broich”
