ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners named in Socceroo squad

Agree with the generally sentiment that when it comes down to it, at least some of the Euro guys will come back.

If that is the case, you could see a bench that was 100% A-League, so if the Euro boys aren't up to it we can make all our changes and bet the other way.

Listening to Pim last night he basically confirmed Heff was his choice at Left back. He also stated why the Olyroo guys were separated and that they are still in line for selection. He also confirmed the reason Craig Moore was not selected is that this is a training squad and he wanted to see some other guys (like Wilko etc).

I would not expect to see more than JA and possibly Danny in the final team. I just think they may put some of the Olyroo guys in Cotton wool and that is why Danny may miss out.

I would love to see Tommy in there if they when all A-League guys as he could be the spark needed to break open a game..

Congrats to the Mariners who have been selected to the training squad.

I think that Pim saw the way Tommy & Hutch worked well with Aloisi and realised there's a combo there already working, so bring them all in to get some cohesion. In training, pit that against another set of midfield and a striker or two, mix and match the best players, add some Euro player individual brilliance (Cahill & Kewell), and voila! a very potent attacking force, if it all works out.

Wilko maybe a bit scratchy for now, but if they don't bring the likes of him into the Socceroo fold this early on, then how the hell are they going to fit a replacement should there be some injury probs with the defense at the latter stages of WC qualifying? Smart thinking I reckon. :tophat:
