James Holland wasn't in the squad for 3rd placed Lask Linz as they defeated Jimmy Jeggo's 1st placed Sturm Graz 2-1 at home in the Austrian Football Bundesliga (Austria Tier 1).

WTF ! o_O

:naughty:
JP,
I know you jumped shipped from Heart when City took over, so perhaps a little unkown history lesson may help, as you may not understand that most on here DO NOT consider James 'Judas' Holland to be a 'Mariner'.

He's known as 'Judas', & for good reason.

He trained with CCM on the day he was offered a contract and verbally agreed to it .... only to then go up to Scumsville and sign a contract with them
- THAT SAME fcuk'n DAY !

On top of THAT!, Judas clearly hand-balled in the box during the CCM v Scum Grand Final AND fcuk'n got away with it, ultimately causing Danny Vukovic to lose his shit at the Ref and cop a '9 month' suspension ! in the aftermath.

He may have grown up in Budgiewoi
BUT .... he was born in 'Scumsville'
He is 'Judas',
He played for the 'Scum', therefore
HE IS A born & bred 'SCUMMER' !!

& definitely NOT a 'Mariner' !!!!! ;)
... :)

& as for Harry Rednapp

McKinna, Arnold, Moss & Walmsley don't get mentioned for their going's on after they've left the club & they all walked out on to the pitch.

Rednapp, a consultant, is akin to Lyle Gorman or Peter Turnball, both of whom actually pumped money into the club.
...... not to mention that 'Ol' Arry' was here for all of 5 minutes.

I agree that our link to Harry Redknapp is a bit tenuous but I think it's good to cover anyone who has had any involvement what so ever in the Mariners. I'm about to start doing reports on McKinna, Arnold, Moss, Walmsley (I think he's not coaching though), John Crawley, Brice Johnson and all our former assistants, just starting to get a data base going.

In regards to Holland, I think no matter of their reputation while they were here and what they have done so afterwards I think they should be included, he was still part of our academy for a fair while even if he is a fair bit of an arsehole. Same with Liam Reddy, I would include him even though I hate the guy's guts because he was still connected to us in some way.

Also Rowdy. While you were on your self imposed holiday Atomic got upset at JP for these type of things.

So JP started a second thread for those NOT as respected players who are overseas.

That is here in the Mariners Abroad thread.

The CCM conquering the world is for the heroes like Mat Ryan.

So like Atomic this thread maybe one your not interested in.

Mariners Abroad in Action Today and Tomorrow

Richard Vernes' Zalaegerszegi will continue their push for promotion to the top flight of Hungarian football against 7th placed Szolnoki MAV. The game begins at 10 PM tonight. The 5th placed Zalaegerszegi face a tough trip to Tiszaligeti Stadion with points needed to keep them in the hunt for promotion. Richard Vernes is likely to feature having started all matches since joining from first division side Budapest Honved.

Malick Mane's FK Taraz face a mammoth task against Kairat, a team more than 30 points above them in league standings the game starts at 10 PM tonight. Taraz will be hoping they can pull off an upset and stop the leading goal scorer of the Kazakh Premier League in the process. If Taraz win they can push themselves further away from the relegation places and cement themselves a spot in the top flight of Kazakh football after being promoted just last season. Malick Mane is likely to start after featuring in all of FK Taraz's games since his return from the Chinese second division.

John Sutton's table topping Saint Mirren travel to East End Park to face 2nd placed Dunfermline Athletic at 12:00 AM tomorrow morning. Saint Mirren are on a four game winning streak and will be hoping to keep pushing for promotion after almost being relegated from the Scottish second division last year. John Sutton was an unused substitute last game so we might see him make an appearance.

Jesse Curran's Dundee play 4th placed Saint Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership at 12:00 AM tonight. Dundee are last in the SPFL and have only picked up 1 point in their first 5 games. Jesse Curran is unlikely to make an appearance as he is yet to make a match day squad this season.

After a poor start to the season Harry Redknapp's 22nd placed Birmingham City play 5th placed Preston North End at St Andrews' Stadium in the English Championship at midnight tomorrow morning. Birmingham City are already relegation threatened and need to start picking up points.

James Holland's LASK Linz travel to Wolfsberger AC, Linz are 3rd while Wolfsberger sit 5th but are only separated by one point. They game starts at 2:30 AM and Linz will be hoping for a reversal of their current form after losing 2 of their last 3 games in the Austrian Football League. James Holland hasn't appeared for Linz for just over a month so a game is unlikely.

John Hutchinson's and Steve Whyte's Seattle Sounders II face off against Colorado Springs tomorrow at 12 PM. Seattle currently sit 11th while Colorado sit 8th in the USL (America Tier 3/4). Having started in the last match it's likely we will Steve Whyte in Seattle colours tomorrow.

Travis Major's Pegasus FC faces off against fellow Australian Jared Lum's first placed Kitchee at 7:30 PM tomorrow in an early top of the table clash. Pegasus will want to claim victory and climb to the top of the Hong Kong Premier League table. Travis Major has appeared twice off the bench in the first two games of the Hong Kong Premier League so expect him to make an appearance.

FCV International Football Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Walmsley as the head coach of their new venture in India, which will launch in Mumbai at the end of September.

The Academy, operated in partnership with coaching experts SRS Sports, will focus on developing the talents of Indian players, from Under-12s to Under-21s, through an established coaching curriculum that utilises best international practices.

Born in Manchester, England, Walmsley has more than 25 years of experience in the football industry as a coach, specialising in the development of talent at youth level in Europe and Oceania. The holder of an Asian Football Confederation Pro-Diploma, he was most recently employed as the technical director and head coach of Hyundai A-League outfit, Central Coast Mariners.

After progressing through a variety of coaching roles in Australia, with organisations including Football Federation Tasmania, Football New South Wales and Manchester United's Oceania Academy, Walmsley was appointed to the role of head of youth development for Central Coast Mariners in 2007. He returned to England four years later to take up the position of head of academy recruitment for Sheffield United, before the Mariners lured him back to New South Wales in 2015.

On his appointment with FCV Academy, Walmsley said: "Football takes you to all sorts of places, and this opportunity has captured my imagination. It's an exciting project, and the potential is unlimited.

"Between myself and FCV, we're bringing a lot of expertise into the country — regarding academy infrastructure, coach education and elite coaching. We are looking forward to blending that with the local know-how and enthusiasm that exists to drive the programme forward and show players a path to progression in India."

SRS Sports director Amit Desai, said: "We are all looking forward to Tony's arrival. The aim is to ensure players gain a superior knowledge of the sport that will help take their game to the next level, so to have someone of his experience will ensure solid foundations are laid, and a structure is in place for years to come. It is going to put us in a strong position to lead on player development across Maharashtra, and beyond."

Initially, from a base in Santacruz, the coaching programme will operate six days a week, catering for the needs of both Development and Performance squads. Once established, advanced camps will be delivered across the region.

The Academy will open for assessment trials on Thursday 28th September 2017, and Walmsley will be joined for the four-day Big Kick-Off by another experienced coach — UEFA A licence holder and current Crystal Palace scout, Ian Sampson, who is FCV's international development coach.

Places can be reserved now for just 50 rupees. For further information and to book your place, please visit www.internationalfootball.academy/in/

Lask Linz and James Holland travel to the Das.Goldberg Stadion to face third tier side SV Grödig in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup (Austrian FA Cup). Linz are no doubt expected to win but SV Grödig lead their division and are undefeated so far this season. James Holland may return after being sidelined with injury.
