Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

With all this talk about the possible Cummings transfer it made me want to share a funny story about him.

A couple of weeks back my parents went to a concert in Sydney and at the end of the show they made their way back to Lidcombe where the car was parked at around midnight. My dad then noticed Jason Cummings standing alone all by himself and called out to him and asked for a photo. He took a photo and then Jason asked how to get back to Gosford and my dad simply responded with “you can’t because there are no trains running at his time” which was true. This meant that Jason was stuck in Lidcombe the night before a training session that lead to the Sydney FC game. The whole reason Jason got lost in the first place was because he somehow got into an argument with Hannah (his girlfriend) about Chicken McNuggets so they split up and since his phone died he couldn’t contact her and Hannah mistakenly caught the final train back to Gosford station without him. My mum then politely offered Jason a lift home and after they convinced him that they weren’t murderers and were Mariners fans, he agreed on going and they drove him back to Gosford where his girlfriend met up with him. 2 days later when I attended the Sydney FC game at Allianz with my dad, Jason recognised us and after a good chat he gave me his match worn jersey and signed it for us as well! What a top bloke.

I love this type of story. We need an interaction with the Mariners type thread...

Cheers Pete, I`m expecting dad to be transferred back to Wyong any day now.
I know he is keen to go to Newcastle but it`s highly unlikely that he`ll be able to.
I really think the boys lifted their performance for your dad against City. I hope his health improves Style and that he sees our run home this season.
All those attendances and support he's given over the years deserve to be paid back, i hope the team can do it for him this season. Thinking of you both.

Cheers Corsair. Dads a football nut .
He`s been president of 3 clubs Green Valley Utd, Doyalson and Toukley.
A Brentford supporter all his life.
A Mariners Supporter since day 1
He even used to travel from Lake Munmorah to Erina every week to watch his great grandson do little kickers.... crazy?

Yesterday afternoon I was able to take dad to the Mariner`s training grounds as he personally wanted to thank the players, staff and management for the support they have given him.
When we arrived we were immediately greeted by Brian Kaltek who gave dad a huge hug.
Fairdinkum his arms went around dad 3 times he is so big.
Then Nectar Triantis came out with the same reaction, followed by Maxi. All called dad by name and by then the tears were flowing. Nectar went and got Monty who was quickly followed out of the change rooms by Matty and Shaun who also couldn`t resist giving dad a huge hug.
The next one out was the Cumdingo resplendent in only his jocks and Nizzy who just managed to grab a towel who also got in on the act.
Dad was overjoyed & I was a teared up mess. The outpouring of love for dad was incredible.

And then came another golden moment when dad asked the Cumdingo face to face if he was leaving?
The answer was "he hopes to be here but if he`s not he wants to make the club a few million dollars.
When dad pressed him further his answer was "My heart is here,I love this club and I hope i`m here next year".
As we were leaving Shaun rang Dan the Man who was up in the office and within minutes he was down hugging dad with tears streaming down his face. I sincerely hope that when the Mariner`s legend board goes up Dan the Man is close to the top.His support and genuine love of the Mariner`s fans is beyond belief.

This club is such an amazing organisation, with such incredible people I cannot put into words the feelings and love dad and myself have for them.
For both of us ,with hands on heart , it will always be MARINER`S `TIL I DIE
