I know, but then you could say J Griffiths would have been an even better signing.  :piralaugh:

As a player, sure....... you can't deny that he was good last season.  It's off the field where the difference seems to be made.  ;)

Kwas can come on when Caceres plays his 60 mins and then gets tired!

See how valuable he is then

Wait until Clark and our fitness staff fix that......

I stand by my pledge that Caceres will be a far superior player for the Mariners than Kwasnik ever was.

By heavens the squad will look a bit different this year, out ----------Tommy, Grumps, Kwas (assuming thread rumor) Trottie, Brownie, In Elrich, Caceres, Macallister, D'Apuzzo

Back Osman, Nik ---------- pushing for spot in first team will be Porter, -------only Alex Wilkinson worries me.

As for Kwas, I will miss his heart like Grumps he gave his all every match always through he made a better wide mid coming on to the ball. Good luck to Adam if he does go he has been a loyal club man.

We must trust and support the coaching staff as to date they have made few errors

Yeah................ damn shame.  Not.

Not consistent enough to be worth having in the squad.  Once Caceres begins tearing things up on the left wing, we'll all be saying "Adam who??".

Ah, but your posts bring me joy at time Serious  :tv:

And I'm with Bear,
"Would be devastated if kwassie left. Would be the biggest loss for us this season if he goes.

Thats seems ermmmm.... just a little over the top Jesus

truly I feel a deep affection for anyone in Yellow and so I pretty much hate anyone going and I'm very grateful for those magic kwassie contributions... but shit yes, Kwassie has been far too inconsistent!!! The amount of Kwassie induced pain I've groaned out is already enough to last me a life time... and maybe even a reincarnation or two for that matter. If you stay Kwas, I won't complain, I'll probably even be happy about it... leastwise till you and Matty start having another spoon it over the bar competition  :headbutt:  ;)

Oh, and before I'm inundated, I think Matty is improving out of sight and going to kick 8+ this season. So daggers down please... sorry to disappoint ;D

I don't rate him, thats all. I'd prefer to have Matt Simon, or a young up and comer on the pitch.

How many games did we win when tommy started getting first team action? He is a good player, but rarely won us agame. Kwassie scored vital goals, to win matches. Which is more than aloisi did since aloisi scored in games we lost or drew bar 1.

Kwassie played half of this season injured, and still had the goods.

Caceras could blow out hardcore, and without kwassie who would be his cover?

Considering the waes he would be on, he is the best buy in the league.

He may never go andplay in the top clubs in europe, but as far as a-league quality goes he is easily up to standard.

Had it not been for some really ordinary passing he could have had a few more goals too, but jedi, tommy and hhutch would often find the sideline and miss his runs.

Sasho is the only player last year who scored more needed goals.
The year before without kwassie we would have been behing NZ.

Kwassie gives it his all even when injured. For his cost, is hard to pip for best value in the league.

How can anyone say a player who scored so may goals is below a-league standard? When those coming in to replace him got less.

And people hard on about matty s and he scored jack all, and was in far greater positions.

Kwassie is the only player we had except tommy last year who was willing to try and take aplayer on, and had the skill to do it. Caceras and elrch better do it if kwas goes, or we will get vry predictable.

I have never been a huge fan of Kassie. However, he has always been there for the Mariners and scored/setup some fantastic goals through 'thick and thin'.

If it is his decision to leave and get first team football good on him. But if it is for any other reason. There will be blood!

Serious who?

It's funny how nobody loves Kwas when he scores goals to get us into asia

Not many in our squad has the heart he has!

Say it with me now - four.  teen.  :p

I went through phases where I thought Kwasnik would seriously explode and take the league by storm...... yet it never quite happened.  And I (note the use of "I" - denoting a personal opinion) don't think that he's worth holding on to.  Four good games a season are not worth the seventeen others of "waste of space on the left wing".

I will miss his penalty taking though.

Floss - that chart tells me that we should be missing Aloi$i above anyone else.  ;)

"Four good games a season" is better than Nik "Four good games when I can be arsed" Mrdja, especially for the price. Mind you if he goes and kicks arse, I'll be fine with it, after all it's what you've all wanted for years, just remember we wouldn't be in the ACL if it wasn't for Adam Kwasnik (Sydney wouldn't have played so attackingly if they didn't need to and thus would be in the ACL, not us) and he is the clubs top scorer, but hey, who needs facts when you can just hate the guy.

Only Marinators could hate their club's top scorer, if he goes I hope he kicks arse and runs up to Bay 16 and does the "shhhh" when he scores. Having said that, I don't really think there's much to this rumour, he's on contract as far as I know, can Nix afford to pay a transfer fee?

He is not under contact omni
And you are not allowed to pay a transfer fee for a player from another a-league team anyway

I have to say I hope he does not go. He may not be the most consistent player but he chips in with more than his fair share of goals and contributes to the team with his attacking play. He would be a bigger loss than most people on this forum think.

i dont reckon he will go, to say he is guaranteed to not get a start is wrong, that said i dont believe Elrich is guaranteed a start over Kwasnik and after we get depleted due to injury who knows what will happen

It all comes down to money, Kwas will go IMO, he's not contracted with us for next year so he can walk away after June 30

TWG:

Five Central Coast Mariners players - including key midfielder Mile Jedinak and striker Matt Simon - have signed two-year contract extensions.

The A-League Premier has also tied up midfielder Mile Jedinak and Brad Porter and defender Nigel Boogaard until the end of the 2009/10 campaign.
"Nigel, John, Mile, Brad and Matt have each made noteworthy contributions to our A-League successes this season and Im certain that they will all play a major part in the future success of the Mariners."

Boogaard, 21, has been one of the club's unsung heroes this season and should be part of Australia's Olympic Games squad in Beijing come August.

The consistent performances of Hutchinson, 28, were rewarded with a Socceroos training camp call-up - although he has subsequently missed out on being part of Pim Verbeek's provisional squad for the World Cup qualifier against Qatar next week.

Defensive midfielder Jedinak, 23, is one of Lawrie McKinna's key men and has firny established himself in the starting XI after joining the club on a short-term deal.

Simon, 22, has impressed with his performances this season and McKinna has even used the Olyroos forward ahead of the more experiences Sasho Petrovski during the campaign.

Local product Porter, 20, has yet to crack it as a permanent first teamer but has time on his side - being the club's third youngest member of the Central Coasts current squad.

"As weve said from day one, the Mariners are not about instant success, were very committed to ensuring long-term success and stability and it is very much with an eye for the long term that weve re-signed these players," Gorman added.

The quintet join Dean Heffernan, Adam Kwasnik, Paul OGrady, Greg Owens, Sasho Petrovski, Danny Vukovic and Alex Wilkinson who has already committed their futures to the Mariners for season four of the A-League.

This was quoted in our squad thread on Feb 1 this year.

Sounds like he is on contract to me!!! ;D
