ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

We are still top of the table... lets hope for a draw tomorrow...

Yes In deed, but there is a weird sense of dejavu as last season all games were draws excluding the same match as tomorrow between Gold Coast and Brisbane Roar, where Gold Coast prevailed 3- to push us into 2nd spot.

I'd say (and hoping for) deja vu back to Rd 1 V3 where all games except ours were drawn, that 2 point buffer being of critical importance at season's end, winning us the Premiership plate!

And as history records, the same again happened in Rd 2 and then almost in Rd 3 if Matty Thompson hadn't been successful 13 minutes from the end in that round's last game againt the Phoenix. Ah, memories!

My tho's on round one ... crowd .. games...

Tho the quality on display is a couple of levels up on previous Hals... outside Glory tho all coaches have grown in some cases and the newbies seem OK...

Could be the years of the 10's each team seems to have a quality ball player in their squad...

Fold still concern me ... their crowds are very poor ... as for Sydney's crown bring on the Rovers ... Moore park is a shit place to get too and is about the only part of Sydney were football does not dominate [is still the biggest by far] the local leagues {players} have also tho Sydney should move to North Sydney Oval and kinds re kindle the Northern Spirit fans... NS used to get a bigger crowd than Sydney in the old NSL...

It's a shame some in the media and the Eurosnobs don't give the A-League a go, because on the pitch i think it gets slightly better by the year, and this year as I said the quality is up on what I have seen so far.

Mariners sit a top of the table .... 4 draws...

Looks like it could be a big year...

That excuse isn't an excuse. Crowds have been flocking to SFS and SCG for decades and generations for other sports and did again this weekend. So why does it differ for SFC fans? Illiterate and cannot read road maps, too dam lazy to bother or there just isn't a liberal supply?

All true... but footballs heart land in Sydney is in Western Sydney ... also SFC did some mighty silly things in Hal 2, 3 & 4.... that did not help...

Further in Northern parts of Sydney aside from Manly [RL] there are no other clubs / teams that draw big crowds where as in Eastern Sydney you have a number of RL sides {Easts. Souths, just south of there St George, and a tad to the west is Canterbury]... two of the most powerful RU sides and the Swans...with RU's national teams Sydney training base...

Not making any excuses simply saying there are better places to put a team...

I can tell you that traffic was diabolical around there. It took me an hour to get from Paddington to Maroubra on Saturday afternoon and an hour and a half to do the reverse because of two games that day.

Also won't be able to escape western competitors in the Panthers, Eels, GWS and further south, St George Illawarra Dragons. With expectation of their first game of the season and Sydney's main derby to boot, a replay of the GF and good weather, I was personally expecting a much larger attendance.

Moore park is still a traffic nightmare. Other areas less so. It's not the competing event that's the problem, but the fact Moore Park is a complete shit to get to.

Why anyone would drive is beyond me? ... brisk 25min walk from Central, or take the bus up. Then again, start early, all those pubs are rather enticing.

That said I can get to Bluetongue faster than SFS from Epping.
