Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Meggsy calls it a day

From wiki about his time with us then the article

Beauchamp was a key player for the Mariners in the inaugural A-League season, starting 22 times in central defence. The Mariners finished third and progressed to the Grand Final, with Beauchamp playing the full 90 minutes in the decider.[8] Beauchamp received numerous accolades from the press and fans for his impressive season, chosen as "Player of the Year" by Australian football magazine FourFourTwo,[9] and was the most popular selection in the A-League "Fans' Team of the Year",[10] although he was ineligible for the Johnny Warren Medal after receiving a red card in a round 11 clash with Sydney FC.[11] Beauchamp also collected the inaugural "Mariners Medal" after being voted as the most outstanding Central Coast player by his teammates.[

Former Caltex Socceroos defender hangs up the boots

Former Caltex Socceroo defender and inaugural Western Sydney Wanderers captain Michael Beauchamp has called time on a storied career in football.

Beauchamp retired following the final match of the 2018 NPL NSW season with Marconi Stallions, who ended their comeback year in the state's top flight with a 3-0 loss against Wollongong Wolves.

It comes 17 years after the central defender made his senior footballing debut for the Stallions at the age of 20.

Beauchamp made 22 appearances for the Caltex Socceroos and made his international debut off the bench in Australia’ 9-0 victory over Papua New Guinea in 2004.

The defender featured for Australia at two FIFA World Cups.

He was a part of the 2006 squad which progressed the Round of 16 under Guus Hiddink, though he was an unused substitute in all four matches in Germany.

Beauchamp made his World Cup debut in 2010 and played 90 minutes as Australia defeated Serbia 2-1 in their final group match in South Africa.

The former Wanderers skipper scored his first – and only – Socceroos goal against Thailand at the 2007 Asian Cup, a strike which proved the catalyst for a 4-0 win and helped propel Australia into the Quarter-Finals.

Beauchamp enjoyed successful club stints on foreign shores, including in Germany, where he won the DFB-Pokal in 2007 with FC Nurnberg.

He also featured in Denmark, the UAE and Thailand in a career spanning nearly two decades.

The Sydney-born defender has also left a sizeable mark on the Hyundai A-League and has established himself as one of the competition’s premier defenders.

He led Western Sydney Wanderers to a remarkable Premiership victory in their inaugural 2012/13 season alongside stints with Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC and Melbourne Heart (City).
