ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think it's bad for us that Ballack's out.

Our campaign really depends on Germany taking nine points (or if they drop points, only dropping them to us) so that we probably need just four points rather than the six or seven we'd likely need in a four way dogfight. No Ballack lowers the chances that they simply cut a swathe through everyone, and we then need to do more to survive.

This

Just a thought though, everyones been saying that Germany are slow starters (not necessarily on this forum, just in general) but of their last 6 openers, they've won 5 and drawn 1. Ballack or no Ballack Germany are still going to be a f*cking tough prospect for any team in the world. That  said, I think we need to go out from the first minute and go at them, we can't just sit back and play for a draw for 90 minutes or we will get hammered IMO.

We can, and I think we will beat Ghana. I just hope that Germany beat Serbia, and Ghana and Serbia kick 10 shades out of each other, would be handy *prays we cut them apart ala Argentina 2006*  (remember that 26 pass goal??)

On a side note, looking at the names missing the World Cup this year. Off the top of my head Benzema, Vieira, Cambiasso, Zanetti, Diego Milito, Pato, Ronaldinho. What wouldn't you give to have some of those players in your squad

Just saw Micks post about Italy, made me remember Totti, Nesta(self excluded I think) Cassano, Miccoli also not going

Never said Germany were slow starters, or even thought that, just saying we can spring a result in this one : )

To be honest.

3 straight defeats. I just cant see any other outcome and I will be very surprised in the 'Roos score either. Keep St Timmy quiet and it starts to look a bit ordinary (yes I'm talking to you McLardarse)

Serbia could easily be the "surprise" package in the comp. Bloody good side with an amazing qualifying record too I think.

I was shocked too...
but the one missing off your list that suprises me more than any other IMHO is...
Nasri!
He has been player carrying Arsenal when Fabregas wasnt injured...just shocked
After Ribery and Malouda, I think he is the best player France has
Better than Anelka, henry, gourcuff etc.

Didnt realise Milito missed out for Argentina. That's stupid. He is about 38x as good as Palermo (who i think is 36 years old). (other than that, Tevez, Aguero and Messi are better than him, and Higuain is maybe yes/maybe no)

And regarding Milito, I thought the barca defender milito missed out, while the inter striker made it.
