ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I now understand plan A & plan B... either the Russians come and if they don't two locals are waiting to take their place...

If we sell Matty and get some decent coin for him we may almost muddle tho... and not need either ...

. nice summary PJ

. i found PTs response a little frustrating ... and didn't really clarify the situation. i got the feeling that the russians delayed (initially) our success then got some more high nett worth locals interested and they stumped up some cash. when the hotel operators came on board that made things a lot less stressful and the russian investment was not as imperative - of course the recent sale of players has nothing to do with the improved situation

. so although there is still a valid, signed agreement ... the russians don't seem as important nowadays and i wonder who is actually holding up any cash commitment

. of course that is just my read on his comments

I only watched the video but got the impression there is still a contactual obligation to the Russians which precludes the Mariners taking on board the local investors - perhaps it is all about buying equity (they are potential investors not sponsors) and there is only so much available and the Russians have first refusal?

There was comment\question about frustration at the drop in attendance last year, especially around finals time. The point was made that attendance actually increased slightly by 1,000 from the previous year. Point was made that we are the best supported Club per-capita in the A-League.

. i think the point was still valid especially considering the scheduling was apparently very kind last season. i think the intent was 'crowds are still below our peak despite better quality football, better quality opposition and continued success'

I'd love to see us get 10K each game but we were the 5th best supported club with better support than clubs from Melb (MV), Perth and Adelaide.

Thats not too shabby considering HAL dont do much to promote the game in the general media.
