I think that is a great idea and wonder if it is something that the Marinators club should talk to CCM about??

Newbies can get GA and get as close as they can, they could then purchase a membership for the next season and "hey presto" we get solid, committed growth.

people who pay a little more for the ticket will also think "i paid the extra, i should actually make it worth my while and participate - i can sit around and clap politely anywhere..."

edit - the issue of requiring extra staff to police it is now moot as well - if they're going allocated seats, then they're going to have the staff there anyway.

I'm just starting to get pissed off at the bigger games where someone will invariably turn up 5 mins into the game and demand their prebooked seats in/around standers and singers and promptly sit down mute.

This usually leads to them getting up and moving after a while.

Thier experience is doubtless ruined and there probably needs to be a very clear distinction about what "home support" is actually a euphemism for (pissed, singing,mild swearing,standing).

The FFA have proved over and over again that they are unfit to handle ticketing for games.

I cite the scum family at the front of bay 16 in the home leg of the major semi as just one example.

GA works because people are free to end up where THEY are most comfortable - any system must include the needs of those who wish to not participate.
