This kind of thing really annoys me.

The Central Coast is not some dumping ground or last resort option for shite mergers and broke teams. The NRL seem to think the Central Coast is a magical, fantasy land, brim full of untapped rugby league support, and if you take any old team and throw it into Blue Tongue the people will come in the thousands. They won't. We are a proud region and tend to only get behind teams when the people who are involved can be seen walking around Erina, Tuggerah, Terrigal etc. doing their shopping or having a few tins. The NRL need to understand why the Mariners are so successful - look at Lawrie having fans over for barbies at his house ffs.

The only tenable option is the Central Coast Bears, or some new venture. But then there's an inherent problem with the comp itself, too many teams etc. So the NRL can go and get farked, they had their chance and now THIS IS MARINERS TERRITORY MOFOS.

No NRL. They don't give a shit about the CC. They are only suggesting it because the Mariners are doing so well.
If the Mariners were not here, then the NRL would not even mention it.
