Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Michael Bridges had agreed terms with the Galaxy for a sizeable wage inside teh cap but it of course fell through. I don't see him at CCM

sasho  and elrich  i think both past their times. Maybe with Matty simon  with him up front  might make a good combo. . 1 quick striker and 1 slow finishing the scraps up striker.  not really seeing a lot of macca cant comment yet but  ideally with a fit mrdja and  if he can hit the form he was in last year . him and simon up front i think  we have potentially the  best strike force in the league . with both macca and  sash  also around  to have all 4 of them fit and on form  no doubt we can be very dangerous

Porter looked lost at RB because he is an attacking MF...........He is probably one of our best young talents.

. don't know how attacking he is (don't think he has ever really played for us in his preferred position), but definitely a midfielder rather than a back

. the starting positions the other day probably give an indication of some of the thinking within the club - it may be that ossie is still a fair way off, as i would have thought it would be a good idea to throw porter into the CM role and see what he could do. the only benefit of starting browny there instead was to build porter's experience at RB

Ozzy is back next week.

Simon will be 4th choice striker if Nik plays, or if we sign another striker. Nik has a few weeks before he plays, but is still on target to play pre-season cup at some stage as was suggested.

Sash will be 4th choice striker if he plays like he has so far in pre season!

I can see Lawrie trying Matty and Dylan in pre-season cup

no chance Matt will be 4th choice

Until he actual gets a goal he should be 4th choice - a strikers job is score goals - how many goals per chances has Matt had so far in the HAL?

Go and ask the gaffer what his role has been...He runs his ring out so Sash and Aloisi can stand there and be 100% when the chances come

His role for AUSTRALIA is different..Hence the goals

i think matty will fire in the pre season
and earn a starting spot by start of the
season along side mrdja, or sasho.

What role he plays it not the issue imo as he had plenty of chances to score for the Mariners last season and took none of them. Until he starts puting them away he shouldn't be a head of the other 3 strikers.
Having said that - let's hope he comes on and gets the winner in the 1st round at the Scum and ends up with the golden boot!    :eek:verhead:

Can't score his first one if you don't pick him. Scoring plenty for the Olyroos against Socceroos and international U23s.

I agree with DJ, Lawrie will looking to Matty to provide some thrust if we keep looking as placid as we did at Budge. With the creativity we've lost in midfield someone like Sasho is going to have a much, much harder time.

we need a CB
and a LM (if/when kwasie leaves)

Why not Eddie Bosnar (28) playing in Japan
and Eric Paartalu (22) in Scotland ?

Your role in the team is vital..As his was..when he got a chance he was buggered from all the running he has done

Does anyone know anything about Danny Ireland 17 australian Coventry City, he's a keeper.
What about Nathan Coe ?

If Heff goes o/s shane stefanutto could be a replacement ?
Danny Invincibile could be another possibly striker
