Would have to be a striker then unless we're going to have 2 visa players competing for the same spot or only play one holding midfielder.

Mueller is 34. Where are we playing him LW or or CAM? Beni can play either side as can Cy apparently. Do we bring in a another CAM and play Mueller on the left leaving Beni to be the replacement as Mueller tires. Equally if the CAM tires or is injured Mueller can move to CAM and Beni come on at LW.

Really it depends how we line up - if we are playing two strikers then it looks like a striker to partner Marcos.

I feel you are bang on with a CAM. We lost creativity with DDS. Is it too much to ask for a box-to-box midfielder that will provide close to double digit assists and is a dead eye set piece specialist?

not a bad thing at all. Should’ve been that way last season. not a sleight on matty either, brings a lot off the bench late on as history shows.

That's where my money is. I still think Simmo has a part to play but it would be a gamble not to have another seasoned striker in case he fades this season. We'd be in big trouble at the moment if Marcos gets injured as well.

Go back and look at last seasons goals, Simon has still got it or at least did last season. He can finish well if he's fit enough to get into position. Definitely slowing up though, could be a good goal hanger this season with our hopefully much improved passing and crossing from the visas.

Simon is the guy you bring on at 80 minutes when you are 1-0 up away to the scum. The bloke to get a yellow, run it into the corner and just be an absolute shit
