Cumdog 22/23 too afaik. Lock in Nizzy (and realistically here with us is a good fit for him playing consistent starting xi football) then you have a really good core to fill a few spots.

Realistically it looks like a few of the older players up for renewal next year will not be there. Muller, Simon and Bozanic are looking (from my point of view) unlikely to be here. Miller looks to be gone and Aquilina in. Will Roux be retained or will Aquilana be first choice as he was at WSW before his injury.

As for the youngsters (or relative youngsters) I would offer contracts/scholarships to most. Nisbet and Garang I would be looking at locking in for 3 years plus and for the last visa spot a DM/CM to support Nizz is a must.

Roux is that colleague that pisses you off. Does f**k all for 10 months a year then the 2 months before bonus time works his balls off and is highly visible. Basically I've slagged him off all season and the last couple of matches he's been pretty decent... right before contract renewal time.

TBF Storm has been ok all year. Not starting 11 material but decent cover for injuries or suspension. As long as he is on small coin he is a good squad filler for next year.
He has been between a 6 and 6.5/10 most games. He used to be a 4/10 last time he was here.

Steeley is a very fine player. People seem to forget he’s only 19, debut season. Only really started being around the aleague squad when Monty got the gig. Basically came from nowhere to the general fan. Inconsistency is inevitable at his age. But his starting base is very high. Maxy has had the same issues but is now flourishing.
I think we Fans forget too often the age of our squad given how far above their weight they punch. And when form drops we’re so impatient and often harsh on them when really, with young players patience is everything. We should remember how lucky we really are we have a seemingly endless conveyer belt of high quality kids coming through… a conveyer belt that the Sydney and Melbourne clubs are extremely jealous of.

I agree, and I've made this self same point many times defending young players on here - though usually directly in response to members writing young players off. But I don't think it's harsh for a fan on a fan forum to say they think a young player isn't ready yet or call out their shortcomings just because they're young. Faz is 19, has the odd off game still, but is clearly ready. I liked what I saw of Harry 4 months ago... but have seen little since. Doesn't mean I'm writing him off. It does mean I'm concerned when I see him starting (especially over Bozanic) when I'd really like my team to make the finals.
