Central Coast Mariners Squad 2021/22

Yeah it's probably an injury replacement

Monty would likely have spoken to him and said this is a chance to resurrect your career, come in, work super hard, play for the team, give a110% and be selfless and you're back. Anything else and you're in the reserves and your career is over. Win win in that regard except for wages (unless covered by injury replacement insurance)
Hopefully doesn't do what that day lazy Scottish gunt we got from Citeh did.

Only way I see this working is if Simon is done as said above but behavioural issues are a major concern with the young squad. To go from a club statesman to a bloke who calls himself cumdog could have a major dressing room shift that could derail any number of academy graduates.
True. Flip side is Monty makes an example of that behaviour and the kids know what's what

yeah i think there is no up side in this guy . and could well be a moral killer .
if we had an older squad this wouldn't be such an issue . i believe tskenis , aguek and Mccarthy
can do a job for us

Yeah huge gamble. Could be a great player for us if we can turn the attitude around but big downside if we don’t. Maybe a 1 year with option to extend if we get him.

looking at the crystal ball there’s a few possible reasons: ACL looking possible, congested end of season coming up with covid disruptions, depth if some of the squad is infected, Simon maybe not coming back, maybe even recognising Muller might not be a regular starter for us.

Worth a punt. If attitude is still a problem I imagine he will be out on his ear.
We have plenty of strikers?
Matty seems unlikely to return.
Muller appears to be fragile injury wise.
What then happens if Marco gets injured and all 3 are out?

Aside from Simon, is it possible someone else is planning on leaving? We have a lot of guys who can play up front. Urena, Moresche, Muller, Tsekenis, McCarthy. So if another senior guy is going, well that's a big hole.

Was just coming here to post that we're looking at Cumdog. Potentially outstanding signing to top up our shithousery quotient, especially as Simmo nears his twilight.
Yep. Not sure why everyone is worried about his discipline. He attended an event and supposedly turned up to training unfit once??? Not a massive discipline issue. The guy was on the radar for an Aussie team place and can still play for the socceroos. Could be an amazing signing. If it occurs you'd have to assume that simmo is done. Will be tears ?

A lot will depend on the what the player wants to achieve... does he wanta get back to his best or better or have a last laugh on the beach....

Staj and Monty has copied this said when you sign [BTW Arnold was a great believer in this as well] when you sign a senior player you want too things first for them to play their best and second to help develop the younger players....

Staj, said in an off the cuf remark one day, that by having senior players help develop the junior players it brings out the best in them....

Best example I can recall was when Arnold signed Perez and said he would help develop Musty .....

We have some real talent in the academy forwards .... just maybe helping develop the academy players is helpful in turning a players around....

Yeah I take this back. Twitter delivering on some very loose cumdog moments. Still, has to go down in things you love to see.

thats pretty telling
Alot of his shenanigans being re-aired now are some time ago. Guy is 26, could be time to knuckle down or forget football. Might be good timing for us or disastrous. If simmo is out then what's the difference to what we have now if he sits..... depends if we lose players.
In Monty we trust. If he takes him then that's good enough for me.
