maaaaaate I am so stoked to see Urena and Moresche combine, they look to read the game in a similar way, if they start moving into the spaces the other is predicting it's going to be awesome to watch.

Definitely going to be slotting Simo in on goal as well, very intelligent through balls.

Some great stuff from his Vasco days:

Will be interesting to see if they only play him upfront. They calling him a striker but looks to be able to play a number of positions. Looks to move very well off the ball
Yeah It will be, he plays CF, AM and LW and looks to a good job at all of them. Maybe they'll float him around a bit. I'm thinking DDS but a serious upgrade, this guy actually scores more than 4 goals a season. People are saying his stats aren't that good at 11 goals in 21 games but if you watch some of the games he's setting up heaps of opportunities for other players and playmaking as well. Geez I am a massive fanboy :pirashoot:

We do seem to have players this season that can fill multiple roles, will be very interesting to see how Monty lines up against different opponents. Hopefully our new video analysis guy will be on point.

Another excellent signing. strongest side we’ve had since Arnie imo. Well done Monty, Ken, Shaun et al. Fantastic work.

You could worry at our fullbacks and depth at DM if we’re playing with two, or even striker, but honestly, the young players I’ve seen so far have great potential and I think we’re a very balanced looking squad. And if they’re all unified and working for each other... will be a good side this season. Can’t wait.

Before we've been loaded in the middle but this year we've focused on signing in the attacking third. We've still got at least 3 players that can play as a defensive mid if needed and it looks like we'll play with only one dedicated to the position.

Cheers for putting that together, look forward to seeing more of that from him this season

Happy it’s all official, very excited. There will ofcourse be the “oh he only played in Singapore last time not that good” from the idiotic casuals.
But I’m VERY keen to see him play. Good age, excellent technical ability, brilliant movement and finishing. He’s coming here 2-3 weeks after the end of his last season. He’s coming in fit, freshened and surely will hit the ground running. 2 year deal is perfect.

Our first ever Brazilian????

Also this takes us to the aforementioned (by either shaun or ken) 18 senior contracted players with the rest of the squad filled by our quality youth on scholarships.
I’d assume the next announcement will be who exactly is on the scholarships.

We've still got 1 more Senior to come, who I think will be Manny Aguek. Anyone been at training and noticed if he's still training with the team?

Who are your 18? I have 16 :-
Birighitti, Sözer, Hall, Rowles, Tongyik, Miller, Roux, Bozanic, Nisbet, Muller, Smith, Moresche, Simon, Urena, Goddard & Nkololo

I have Farrell, Balard, Hatch & Tsekenis as the 4 scholarship players and Steele as one of many NPL players that may feature this year. The bolded players have been announced as scholarship players I believe. Farrell has been quoted by MarinerMick as having a senior contract - but I haven't seen anything official at all. If so he would be the 17th senior player

Yeah great point and an important one. Ever since Okon we’ve had a squad imbalance at DM (namely having 15 of them) and as you say in the final third. I think our spine is as good as any in the league now and with the quality we’ve added for creativity and out wide - should make for a very competitive side.

I could have understood if Monty chose to double down on fighters and grit across the park. But instead he’s building a very capable looking team both in defence and attack.

You may be mistaken for thinking he's our first Brazilian after the first one was Jair.
