ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hearing all the senior coaches of the academy have been sacked.

Apparently club not happy with how the squad is being managed and their performances.Talk of lack of preparation and planning in teams, no session plans for training, little analysis of opposition etc
Oh wow so Ray Junna, Steve O'Connor, Dan Barrett, Greg Hartge and Grant Lee gone? Getting Ben Cahn back would be nice...

Should never have sacked Ben Cahn. Best coach outside the AL which is some people got insecure allegedly. He is carving it in Qld and he is a coach who actually makes players better.
Is this a result of Phelans 7 month review or a result of it.
Reboot 3 or 4?

Heard this was on the cards. Lot of unhappy people. Hopefully this change will help the turn around.

I know some parents of players. You can never please everyone, but these are pretty good easy going types. Main gist has been it’s been a massive step backwards, and people haven’t felt like the work was going in as Mick mentioned.

Exactly how it was. Ray Junna, Steve O'Connor and Grant Lee have all gone and have been replaced by Nick Montogomery (1sts) Sergio Rai (20s) and Dan Barrett (18s). Difference in the performance on the field and the training environment has been immense with players responding very positively to the change. some players have moved on to other clubs and others are now reconsidering their decisions to move and will likely stay (including two prominent local juniors). Training has taken up a step up in all aspects. Staj was at the game on Saturday night and spoke to players at half time and after the game.
Very positive move by the club.

Great info as usual PL. Is that Monty's permanent position or he will be doing both jobs?

Interesting, thanks PL. Any info on who has moved on to other clubs?

Kekeris to Sydney Olympic, Manny Peters to Mount Druitt, Joe Gauci probably back to SA. One more likely to go and three others who were likely to go are now staying (can't reveal names for obvious reasons there). Zac Forsyth has come back to CCMA from North Shore and there is the possibility of one or two other players being signed with a view to the NYL. Monty will take charge of the NYL next season which means there will be a lot closer link to the first team than there was under Junna.

Is that on Monty or is Michael just sick of the shit that goes on and had already made a decision to leave?? PL or Pete?
Never got a crack when we were short of CBs and is now too old for nyl. why stay and not get paid or go to npl1 and make small coin. making an assumption on his move.
