Wouldn't be mcging, you usually have to play to organise to get cards.

If you are just trying to get a one-off card then that is true but if you are trying to get up to 3 cards in a game and doing it on a repeated basis without attracting any unwanted attention (and overlaying the inconsistencies and at times incompetence of A League reffing) then it is handier if you have for some refs with specific idiosyncrasies that you can rely on

I still think you just go for the simple rugby tackle / piggy back on a player getting away. Easy call for the ref. Looks like a professional foul especially if you're trying to hold onto a result. If a few do it that's just a sign of desperation or being a dirty team.
