JAKARTA/SYDNEY
28 January 2009

Qantas Socceroos players taking part in tonight's Asian Football
Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup 2011 qualification match against Indonesia
in Jakarta will be an unusual sight.

While football teams traditionally number their squad members
consecutively from number 1 (goalkeeper) to the maximum number
permitted, regulations for the AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifiers mean that
the squad which takes the park tonight will add up to a healthy cricket
score.

The AFC stipulates that players must maintain the same numbers
throughout the qualification campaign which begins tonight for Australia
and concludes in March 2010.

With Head Coach, Pim Verbeek, likely to use different players throughout
the 14 month campaign, Australia's squad of Hyundai A-League stars have
been assigned numbers ranging from 3 for Craig Moore through to 99 for
one of three goalkeepers in Jakarta, Michael Theoklitos.

The starting XI will be named later tonight.  The match is expected to
take place before a capacity crowd of 90,000 at Jakarta's Gelora Bung
Karno Stadium in steamy conditions.

In a busy six months, the Qantas Socceroos will play their next game
against Japan on 9 February in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier followed
by another AFC Asian Cup 2011 qualifier against Kuwait at Canberra
Stadium on 5 March and another World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan on
1 April.

Tonight's match kicks-off at 11.30pm AEDT (7.30pm Jakarta) and is
broadcast live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS from 11.00am.  The AFC Asian
Cup will be held in Qatar in 2011.

can someone please explain to McKay and Tommy P how to take a set piece. They need to have some pace on them and at least beat the first man.
