ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.
Agree he is a loss in my opinion.O’Rourke is a good guy from my dealings with him, so his departure won’t help the APL’s cause any
Always seemed very competent, even when others in FA/APL haven't been. Has also been good at cleaning up media messes over the years, if the new CFG guy performs like CFG usually does in the media there will be a few media wildfires.O’Rourke is a good guy from my dealings with him, so his departure won’t help the APL’s cause any
All depends what they want from the role. I think he’s done well but if they want to expand the role or focus on leveraging more contacts etc he may not be the man for the job and indeed may not want to be with a bunch of extra pressure.Always seemed very competent, even when others in FA/APL haven't been. The general feedback from people far closer to it than I am?This thread from Joey Lynch who wrote the piece has some of the bits that didn't make the article

So the APL has done absolutely nothing since meeting the active supports last year except email clubs "a framework" and drag out the appointment of an independent chair over multiple years.
Can you confirm this @priorpeter ?
Yep. Spot on.Can you confirm this @priorpeter ?
Nailed it. I have worked for the same company for 18 years and when I first joined, it was a customer-focused and employee-centric privately-owned publicly listed company that we were proud to work for.
It's become very clear it was never the "clubs" as a collective that took control.Nailed it. I have worked for the same company for 18 years and when I first joined, it was a customer-focused and employee-centric privately-owned publicly listed company that we were proud to work for.
Three years ago however, we were sold to a US-based VC group and in that time the sole focus has transitioned to a soulless profits-first organisation, where overheads get mercilessly stripped and more and more pressure placed on employees to achieve ridiculous levels of profit above all else. No wonder most us the long standing staff are looking for exit strategies.
I honestly believe that for all its faults, the FA could not be doing a worse job of running the A Leagues than the APL has since it took over. There is too much power and influence being wielded by the most powerful clubs, which overly impacts the less powerful clubs. The contempt that the APL appears to holds its biggest stakeholder, us the fans, shows how they truly understand the football landscape and it doesn’t look like changing any time soon.
