Did anyone have a look at the World Cup Song competition website (I think it's finished now). It strikes me that the Central Coast is totally infested with amateur and professional musicians (many of them extremely good), so why aren't we having an annual competition to pick a pre-match song written by locals? The prize would be that your song is played pre-match for an entire season.
Songs could be uploaded here and people qualified to vote (say, minimum one year's membership or 200 posts, for example) would vote for the finalists, and the club could host a huge gala event at the Leagues Club where the finalists and winner were announced.
It'd be a fantastic event and really good means of connecting with the community for the club. If we made enough noise, the club might be interested.
This would be my entry:

As most of you know, my book is in the shops and this is a link to one of the songs from the book, which we lent to the socceroos for the world cup - hence the Oz football film clip.
Best we see some other people's efforts for something big and pumping for the lads to run out to.
