I think we can resoundingly blame Mike "friend of the pod" Charlesworth.
He watched that Dick slash and burn to get his $$ back before running away. What did he think he was doing?
Note: Dick let our 2 most valuable assets walk for free. Twat.
Then Podboy didn't cover the losses, replace the staff or invest in the squad. It now appears everything he said about the window was utter bollocks and Jacko was allowed to spend what he saved.
He thought he had a buyer. That hasn't worked. He thought he could get another property development off the ground and looks like McKinna is going to f**k him over.
The club is effectively shut down.

We're on track to lose $3 million this year. They're trying to get it down closer to $2 million.
We can't afford to spend a f**k tonne on replacements on or off field this season.
Regroup, hire locals who are passionate about the club and are good at learning their job.

Rich thought he had a buyer for nearly a full year. He never bothered to do the fit and proper test. Then whinges to Gatty about it all.

Mike wasn't keeping an eye on the club. Alyssar didn't even know who Mike was when Rich hopped on his mountain bike and rode away.

There's little money out there.

I've been critical of Mike in the past as you'd have heard on my earlier pods. But I've always been thankful to him for keeping the club alive.

With the right people in the right positions in the office and in the football department, we can once again build up to what occurred in the last 2 seasons.

I really don't blame him for this either, it's mighty unfair of 'lil dick to do what he done (which I suspect he knew he was departing for a lot longer than he made out to have been considering - once the paydays came through to 'recoup his losses financially is only the reason he announced it) When I was watching the doco about CCM after it aired I disliked him from that moment as there were some utterly abysmal things he was doing "behind the scenes", he came into this knowing full well that he'd have to open his wallet and spend a lot of dosh only to get cold feet and pull out and kind of felt that he tried to put all the blame on the APL's funding cuts.... like come on, that affected every club, not just us and then continues to cull the staff that actually went through thick and thin to aid this club....

It was all about getting his kid a shot

When you get the ball it goes forward. Very quickly.
Often a very high line that is almost a 424 with the ball.

Verticality baby. I always get a semi chubby when I hear that word. The lack of a decent centre midfield this season makes it virtually impossible to replicate last season’s game plan.

“We had a plan, they didn’t execute it.”
“We don’t expect this / see it coming.” (The result.)
“We will go away and talk through it and work out how to improve.”
“That’s always the process, our process doesn’t change.”

Etc etc etc.

I like Jacko. But I believed him a lot more in the beginning.
