ALM round 20 CCM v WSW

Why wouldn't you sub the keeper at half time?

I was actually being sarcastic about the Manager's post match speech which will doubtless say we weren't good enough today we actually wanted to win "but we'll take the positives". No mention of course of the Manager dropping the first choice goalkeeper for a red card he didn't even deserve and watching the replacement keeper implode.

Rest of the team weren't much better either.
You are normally brighter than this. The 1st choice keeper was actually the 2nd choice keeper. You can't reward constant bad performance or what message does this send to the squad. Pav had to be given a second chance. He had a Barry and now we know DPC is the better option regardless of any errors.

Came back early from Japan for that shitshow. Words cannot describe how angry I am. Supposed to still be on the slopes at Hakuba right now.
Yeah. You didn’t deserve that. 😔

You did well, honestly. That full time score was mumbled out in such a manner it actually made me chuckle.

Sorry that’s how it played out though 😣

Watching the highlights of the other games, the difference so often came down to competent goalkeeping and good saves.

Sail, Langerak etc each made game saving saves that got crucial points and was the difference.

I'll die on that hill, games are won from competent keepers. We f**ked it royally this year investing in kids for a gamble that may pay off in 5 years time, it's too crucial a position and there are too few games to be throwing valuable ALeague minutes at these guys.

Charlesworth is a clever mofo, this season is a write off and he can blame it all on Dick leaving. He knows he doesn't need to put money in because he has a scapegoat

. clever? really?

. of the ~5% of fans that know and somewhat understand what has gone on with the staff and funding - i reckon you'd have a hard time convincing them

. as for the rest of the fan base - they will simply be less interested in buying the product that he has for sale ... same goes for any 'potential' 'investors'

. i'd hardly call that clever - certainly not from an ongoing business POV ... but i'm not going to argue the mofo part

I think you misunderstood what I meant by clever...

I can’t find @shipwreck ‘s original comment, but regardless if that was his intention, (which I don’t think it is), plenty of fans already calling for his blood. Particularly with idiots like Ray GATT shooting his mouth off with utter crap that he has no clue about,

Charlesworth is absolutely getting blamed for this season. People are very quick to forget Peil was here start of the season when key decisions were made. He is riding off scott free on his mountain bike while we are stuck with the fallout.

Gee I was so angry after that game, what an appalling performance and some terrible management decisions.

I really don't know where we go from here, pretty much lost hope for the rest of this season. Can't see the morale in the dressing room being very good from here on either.

With no ACL money next season, no players of any great worth to sell, no APL money and an owner who'll want to put the minimum in, it's a grim outlook for next season unless the club is sold.

I’m less concerned about yesterday’s performance as I realised at round 5 we had very little chance of making finals this season and the ACL pretty much developed in line with expectations. The optimistic forumites seem to get hit head on after yesterday’s game with the realisation that the season is pretty much over.

It’s a huge fall from the last three seasons and I’m glad I came to terms with it early. I made plenty of comments early on that a comparison to last season was way off the mark. This season we have never looked like a final 6 team in my opinion. We just don’t have the calibre of players to compete.

Only real positive I see this season is Alfie’s injury gave us a good look at Eames and he has played way more minutes than what was probably expected. Read a comment on socials that was spot on, “our best player is 16 years old”. Hard to argue with that. Also backed up in the second half yesterday when Alfie come on at half time. Reminded me of how good Eames is and how much more go forward he provides. Bulk him up over the next few seasons and he will be a super star. I hope he doesn’t want to leave a sinking ship as that is what we appear to be and probably will be for the foreseeable future.

I’ll remain a member as long as I have a team to support. Those that survived the lean years enjoy the good times more, the people who only turned up for the events wouldn’t have enjoyed the trophies as much as the rusted ons.

Only empty feelings I have now is I attend my last Asia tour last week, went on four of them over two years and now have some very fond memories of four fantastic and very different tours. Hope it’s not another decade before I get to go on another one.

I think we can resoundingly blame Mike "friend of the pod" Charlesworth.
He watched that Dick slash and burn to get his $$ back before running away. What did he think he was doing?
Note: Dick let our 2 most valuable assets walk for free. Twat.
Then Podboy didn't cover the losses, replace the staff or invest in the squad. It now appears everything he said about the window was utter bollocks and Jacko was allowed to spend what he saved.
He thought he had a buyer. That hasn't worked. He thought he could get another property development off the ground and looks like McKinna is going to f**k him over.
The club is effectively shut down.
Yup. I can absolutely blame our foreign rent seeking owner

Yeh, I know Peil has f**ked up massively and the way he left the club in shambles after messing up the staff, I will never forgive him for.

But I agree that Charlesworth had time and opportunity to fix it, he just chose not to and in his kind, it's all Dicks fault. That's kinda the point I was trying to make in that he is a clever bugger. If anyone calls him out, he will just blame Dick.
