ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

A-League Transfers and Rumours

He was bloody good this year. Brilliant reserve keeper now and if Number 1 is out you lose nothing. I actually thought we might make a play for him.
Young isn’t going somewhere to be a backup at his age, only caveat being if there’s a GK coaching role tacked on to the end of the deal. Still a very good keeper and in the top half of the starting keepers in the league last season.

I’m not debating he isn’t a good keeper. He was brilliant season before last and can still pull out some top shelf saves. But city you would think would be aiming higher for a number 1, not a well aged keeper from another Aleague club, good or otherwise.

Who should they be aiming at then? Assuming they aren't wanting to use a visa spot on a keeper that narrows the field. They've got some players to replace and the visa spots are more valuable in the outfield if they can get a decent local like Young. Gauci locked in with Adelaide. Danny has the same issue youve got with Young and seems to be locked in with us. Anyone else is a bit of a gamble but Heward Belle was the pick of the bunch for relatively young keepers with some experience. Maybe Delianov but he's contracted.

I don't see City being willing to bring in someone too green and put their faith in them. This way provided Young stays fit they can work on Beach for a season before deciding if he's ready to step up next season.

I think our budget is a wee bit tighter than City’s?

Look. I would prefer to watch Young in goals than Glover. So more than happy to go with it. As I said, I was just surprised.
