ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The thing I like is ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand have invested in FA so have a definite interest in the growth of the sport here. I believe they also have a track record in improving the MLS.

All points to better promotion and the kind of saturation in their free to air programming that RL gets on 9, AFL get in Victorian media.

Interestingly, with NZ in their title I wonder if they'd have preference for another NZ team in future team expansions.

I don’t hate the idea of another NZ team (AFC might) but they do present a scheduling challenge. Still I could see it working if the league goes to 16 teams. IMO 13 should be Canberra and there seems to be a preference for a second Brisbane/SQLD side which would make 14. Could add a kiwi derby for 15 and see who makes sense for 16. I’d love to say tassie but population not really on their side.

We just have to get the executives at ten to be on board with this and more promotion will come naturally as a result.

Apparently they are none too happy that a Saturday night viewing spot has to go to football.

I'll probably get shot down however I'm not a fan of Kiwi teams in the League at all. Much prefer to see SA, QLD and WA have two teams than two Kiwi teams or even one for that matter. Add to that an ACT team and it's all covered.

Thats why I said if we go for 16. Definitely bigger priorities for 13 and 14. For SA and WA we'd need to know if there is a decent market that hasn't been tapped yet. More WA presents additional scheduling and travel challenges as well which will work against them.

With smart scheduling (yet to happen in any season I can remember) away teams could play both WA teams in a week so staying in WA for 6 or 7 days instead of flying in an out. Just don't like how we nurture Kiwi players for no benefit to Australian football.

Kiwi teams aren’t 20+ NZ players, if they can get good aus players they will. And I definitely agree WA needs smarter scheduling especially over the peak of summer.

Canberra, Wolves next as they have ready to play stadiums - announce Hobart and second Brisbane/SQLD side at the same time with a definite timeline

Wolves might be a tough sell thanks to the bulls coming in. We're at 5 NSW teams of 12, 6 of 14 might not go down too well.

I understand what you are saying but I actually think that it is important to have regional teams and capitals without teams before we double up any further in the othe capitals. By announcing 15 and 16 at the same time as 13 and 14 you show that it will be 6 of 16 - not 6 of 14 in the near future and in reality 3 of 16 for Sydney and 3 regional NSW teams.

Archie Thompson announced as a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef so you would hazard a guess he will be part of Ten’s football coverage.
