ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think they will have a hard time proving guilt. It's a one on one situation in Angel's apartment.

From a purely legal standpoint, how do you prove Angel's guilt when the only witness is the accuser?

Depends what his version is and what if any evidence is produced by the lawyers for either team.

I can see a misunderstanding due to language argument already building.

No google translate back at the apartment. First bit of interest would be couldn’t communicate clearly without google translate but can run after her saying you will ruin my career.

Now we know they can play up or down their language abilities.

He certainly seems to have got panicky afterwards.

Going the belt round the neck after knowing someone for 5 minutes is an interesting decision

Let’s see what else comes out.

Character witnesses would be very important in a case like this I'd expect.

I'd imagine it would be difficult to convict unless they get him to admit guilt.

No or stop are pretty easy words to understand so the language barrier approach probably wouldn't fly.

Character witnesses won't come in to it. This is a serious criminal accusation, having a letter from your MP won't help you in this one.

The no or stop is her word ( it her story, as opposed to his story), he says he didn't hear it, how do they argue it? It will come down to the information he volunteered, and evidence.

Torres has just been acquitted of all charges.

I know everyone will have differing opinions, basically the entire public eye will still see him as guilty unfortunately. Personally, I’m trying to follow the verdict and give him his innocence. His career is most likely dust now, not a chance we take him back. But in my honest opinion he’s been just as big of a loss as the others based on pure football ability. I know he was definitely a lone wolf in the squad and from afar did seem pretty ego heavy. But from a pure football standpoint, we’d have been better off with him this season.

He would fit our model. He'd be reasonably cheap and if reaches the heights he did before being stood down there would be suitors offering transfer fees

While I can't see us spending anything on anyone this season let alone him it might be kind to let him train with us while he sorts out what's next.
Maybe with no contract his visa is up and he has to leave immediately anyway.

Are we all kidding? We erased the guy from our history books the second he was charged. He was the golden boot and didn’t even get his name on our championship shirts or acknowledged as existing in any way when we won a treble, let alone as a major contributing player. I can understand why we did it.. but would not expect to be forgiven.

Not guilty doesn’t mean good character. This club is supposed to have strong values around community, family, and respect...and he quite simply doesn’t align with that.

Everyone gets to close this chapter and go separate ways.

So the prosecutor conveyed the prosecutions case with a story, and minimal evidence. To infer the prosecutions story as gospel is not only misguided, it's recklessly wrong.

A not guilty does mean his individuals character remains intact, his personal sexual choices don't dictate his character. Your own subjective beliefs about community, family respect don't come in to it. According to a jury of 12 of his peers, he has been cleared of all charges.

Exactly this.
His wife fled him due to alledged abuse, cheating etc. Not to mention the other alledge breaches of conduct.
Not guilty just means it was a he says she says situation where there's no hard evidence to prove he's guilty. Doesn't mean he didn't do it.
