Going into the final third of the season, this is how teams have stacked up:
ADELAIDE UNITED
Have the real Adelaide United finally turned up, based on Friday night's win over Wellington? On Friday night they looked to have got the mix right, but a heavy schedule to clear.
MELBOURNE VICTORY
Pace-setters for much of the season, but two away defeats have raised questions about Merrick's tactics.
SYDNEY FC
3rd? How? They've been deeply average and worse for much of the season and John Aloisi has still scored just once.
QUEENSLAND ROAR
Have a great blend of youth and experience and the best defensive record in the league, if they can improve their homw form they will be right up there.
CENTRAL COAST MARINERS
Attacking prowess not in doubt, but too many drawn games and a leaky defence is their major downfall.
WELLINGTON PHOENIX
Friday's defeat aside, they did put together their best run of results to date to become real contenders. Now is the real test.
PERTH GLORY
Hard to beat at home, dismal away. Score plenty but leak even more. Still, they're on the up.
NEWCASTLE JETS
The riches to rags storyline of the year is still being written.
