Back in October, John Schappert, Corporate Vice President of Xbox LIVE, Services and Software, announced during his Tokyo Game Show keynote that the New Xbox Experience will ship to Xbox 360's around the world (in 26 countries, localized in 11 languages) on November 19th 2008...today.

I just downloaded the new XBox Experience and it's installing it right now...I now have a "Mii" which XBox are calling an "Avatar" but is so blatanlty a rip off of the Nintendo Mii it's funny...I played through a game of FIFa 09 with the tv on mute listening to the noise of the console as it read the game. I've now installed FIFa 09 onto the HD...be warned, it needs 6gb...and all I can hear now is the fan. Quite literally thats it. Now for games like GOW2, Fallout..all of those graphics intense games this could be a quite a boon..especially come summer and do wonders in helping prevent the dreaded RROD.
The downside...FIFA needs 6Gb...how much is GOW2 or similar games going to need? geeezus. And from what I can see online the 120Gb HD is around the $230RRP mark.
I don't like the new menu system. It seems un-necessarily convoluted. Overall I think it's what Vista was to XP...a lot prettier with not much more functionality. Having said that, if you dont upgrade yo get signed out of XBL. So theres not a whole lot of choice.
Who else has gotten this update yet?
