Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Socceroos Squad To Play Iraq

Goalkeepers: Mark Schwarzer, Brad Jone, Mitchell Langerak

Defenders: Lucas Neill (c), Ryan McGowan, Mark Milligan, Jade North, Matthew Spiranovic, Luke Wilshire

Midfield: Mark Bresciano, Matt McKay, James Holland, Brett Holman, Tommy Oar, Adam Sarota, Carl Valeri

Forwards: Alex Brosque, Robbie Kruse, Nikita Rukyvytsya, Archie Thompson, Tim Cahill

I think Holger doesn't want us in the world cup, Cassio and Rose should be fighting for the left back position, not chucking Mckay there because you don't want to pick a natural LB.

Spiranovic and Neill started together is just going to be a disaster :(

Holland getting picked again this is just a joke now

Valeri ? you can't be serious

And holger said he didn't know Oar was playing as a attacking midfielder, so in other words he has not seen him play in anyway not even by video and Oar is getting selected from a piece of information that was probably sent by email.

Now to top of a great selection of players lets chuck North, Milligan and Brosque into the mix.

I agree we do have a left bak problem, in general the backline worries me.
I don't want McKay as LB either, I prefer him next to Bresc in the midfield and piss off Valeri. He's just not good enough.

To be fair...
Judas Holland has been getting consistent game time in a good league.
And Brosque has been one of our better players.

Jade North though is always a talking point, his team gets destroyed every week and his own fans don't rate him at all.
Very hard to see why he keeps getting call ups.

That team is seriously lacking another #10. If Bresciano goes down, we turn to shit. Also while he's been playing wonderfully, I'm not at all convinced he's a 90 minute player any more. And what happens if the game calls for more creativity on the park at the same time Holger? Whose he going to bring on? Holland? Sarota? Oar? Oar's the most creative of the three, but better wide than central?

Concerns me he doesn't see this. Also his forwards lack a number 9. Why's kennedy still out? Though I hate our lump it to Josh bollocks. :headbutt:

All I can say is our "fringe" and "youth" players better step the hell up or our world cup campaign may well be in serious trouble.

I agree, the combination of Bresciano and McKay in central midfield is our best option.

If Holland is getting game time he should be given the chance to show what he has to offer.

It is true whenever Bresciano leaves the field we suffer, but I think Archie Thompson plays his best football behind the strikers and I believe if we use him as a play maker it would not be the worst idea.
Scott McDonald is also another player that would be great in the midfield.

We are really relying on James Troisi to step up now that he has the chance because he is probably our long term solution along with Amini, for the short term I would settle with Carle or Vidošić.

I hope Kennedy does not work his way back into the squad, I watch him make error after error and than score a goal, when we start playing top teams and his goals dry up all we will be watching is him giving the ball away for 90min

I can't agree with Brosque being one of our better players he is hopeless.
