Yep - postponed 'cause of the All White's playoff with Bahrain.

Why ?

Welly are apparently an 'Australian club' so wtf does that have to do with NZ ?

Seems the goalposts shift for this lot whenever it suits.

F**k them off when the licence is up imo.

FIFA regulations

Nothing to do with FFA decision making and "shifting goalposts"

What are the FIFA regulations? I thought Wellington was an Australian club playing in NZ. Either everyone in to play or everyone out for the weekend.

this is an inconsistency!
FWIW I think the whole weekend should be scrapped due to international break...and it would be fair across the board.
We are without our best player
The Gold coast without their best/2nd best
Not Happy!

Am pretty sure that the FFA wanted a massive weekend of football this weekend to coincide with the end of nrl/afl.

Melb vs Syd, Perth vs adel, bris vs GC are all big games. Add to that roos vs netherlands and you will have a big aggregate crowd this weekend.

Personally i think this is the best bit of fixturing the ffa have done so far this season. Since pim has picked minimal local roos. Moore and culina cancel each other out IMO for the qld derby.

Why is it an issue for Wellington to play their game later? I am glad that the FFA have adopted some midweek games. Try and build that sort of culture for when the cup comes in. Adds to ACL midweek culture as well.

If 7 mariners were called up to the roos squad i am sure our game would have been postponed.

But this probably the most important weekend for football this season. If big crowds and big tv audiences are found this weekend, they can be held on for the season hopefully. Compared to last season the season has just begun, so now when there is more attention on it, the teams are more gelled.

What are the FIFA regulations?

Three or more players from the one team representing a particular nation and you can postpone the game

I think they are playing league. Colisimo with an elbow to Fabiano then an elbow on Archie. Broxham with a chicken wing tackle. ;)

Merrick gave his team sleeping pills before kickoff, they didnt wake up till 3/4 of the way into the first half, too hard to come back now - sydney actually defend pretty well - a win for us is big now to keep in touch with the leaders

Last night's games showed the difference between good coaching and bad coaching.

Sydney FC played the best football they've perhaps ever played. It's taken time for Lavicka to get the best out of them and get them playing what's expected, but last night showed what happens when you get it right and play a system and style that suits your players. Bridge and Brosque are best playing together as strikers, and Bridge IMHO has really suffered by being played out of position by both Van Egmond and Kosmina in the last two years. Sydney's passing and movement was very good, and their defence was exceptionally solid.

Compare and contrast with Adelaide United, more specifically Aurelio Vidmar. Folks, this is what happens when you play slavishly "to a system", and Vidmar is too pigheaded and arrogant to realise that the system he plays does not suit the players he's got. How is Owusu expected to score when he's playing alone up front ahead of a frighteningly poor quality midfield? I'm sure at his peak he's had strike partners and a better midfield supporting him.

Vidmar is doing exactly what Van Egmond did. Played to a system, lucked out big time for while, but when players leave and other teams smarten up, you get found out big time. Those who ignore the past are condemned to repeat it.

I tipped a lot of draws this weekend (and in the Welly game as well) but that's been well and truly been hit for six already.

I wouldn't dare take The Adjudicator seriously. His tips are clueless. He tipped the Roar to win despite losing Tiatto and Miller. At least he knows Welly aren't playing due to the Kiwis WCQ against Bahrain.

would love to have watched last nights match, i hope we can play even half as good as that:D

To be fair, you guys played a massive game against Gold Coast and kept it up for 90 minutes. I admit I was skeptical about whether your team could play football this season, until I saw that game. It was very impressive.
