Rio gets the nod for 2016 - WOW

Rio de Janeiro will host the 2016 Summer Olympics after the final decision by the IOC this morning in Copenhagen.

Amazingly, Chicago DID NOT make the final two; that honour was reserved for Rio & Madrid.

Holy Cow!!! Man, I'd want $2000.00 an hour to run THAT Security detail.

The cartels in Medellin, Cali & Bogota will be LICKING THEIR LIPS at the trade in summer 2016.

WOW!! World Cup and Olympics in 24 months. Unbelievable.

Guess this means our big trip will NOT involve the Olympics. Oh well, get to see more Yankees games. No complaints from me.

Imo, when the final two were announced, it was quite obvious that Rio would make it

the reason: London 2012, so the IOC would not let Europe host 2 consecutive Olympic games...

as for Rio getting it. Its a great nod to Barzil, they must have impressed the IOC.

Many people I spoke to who have been to Chicago say they don't see how an Olympics would work, as it's not very well planned out, it's crazy and even some people I spoke to who live in Chicago said they don't even see how it'd work!
