Generally speaking I think referees should control a game without taking over & becoming the main focal point for after match discussions.
There are some good referees going around,but I think the best referee I`ve seen in the past 20 years would have to be Boyd MacGregor (NSW State League) & the worst is probably Mathew Breeze.
What`s your opinion & who do you think are the best & worst referees?

Can we bring linesman into it, because i hate it when we get Sarah Hoe. Its even worse when we get breeze and hoe, the amount of wrong decisions she makes forces me to attempt to eat my hand

Linesman in general. We see offside goals all over the world that are very marginal but are let go. Not here. Here we see legitimate goals called for offside because they can not get the attacking advantage right.

Although Melbourne Victory would score a lot more goals if that wasn't the case so kind of balances out. Bloody long ball, anti football merchants!
