ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Our Greatest Night

Next Tuesday will mark half a decade since that famous win...

I was at the match…. never before or after have I been so moved and call recall every detail of the night from getting home from work, were we went for dinner, the bus ride in ….

That night at the ground was for someone like me, who is challenged when writing descriptive bits, difficult to put into words….

The stadium was packed and somehow the crowd had decided to to just sing Australia home…. and JON did a clever thing, one of the last things the great JW said was we need a football crowd at the match … JON did just that if you played or coached Football you registered and got first go at the tickets and Football folk took all on offer…

Next was the atmosphere you could cut it with a knife … it was electric … we belted out Advance Australia Fair as a warcry a challenge everyone at the top of their voice…we booed Uruguay all night and when Popa stiff armed Recoba with a tackle that almost took his head off … we booed Recoba for diving … in an all seat stadium no one sat everyone stood the entire match… we sang we cheered we booed and we were football..

When we won and the fireworks blasted from the stadium roofs with Man at Works … I come from the Land Down Under… we all stood on the stadium seats linked arms, hugged and kissed anyone and everyone… we bounced on the seats and refused to leave… I can still hear the stadium announcer begging people to leave the stadium over an hour after the match it was still over three quarters full…

Then the parties and drinking we did over the next 24 to 36 hours …. were do I stop…
